In the vibrant world of Brighter Shores, players are met with numerous quests, but few present the unique challenges found in The Lost Shipment. This quest involves a deep dive into various professions while requiring strategic gameplay adjustments.
Since the early access launch, gamers have been captivated—and occasionally frustrated—by the complexities woven into The Lost Shipment, characterized by its array of riddles and formidable trials to recover the elusive Carthian Plumbatae. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to successfully navigate this quest and claim impressive rewards.
Essential Requirements for The Lost Shipment
Before embarking on The Lost Shipment, there are crucial prerequisites to meet:
- Achieve level 25 in Fishing.
- Achieve a minimum of level 25 in Guard.
- Remove all guard armor.
The challenging Fetid Flounder will only be catchable for players who have reached level 25 in Fishing. Players will also need to contend with some tough adversaries—namely, thieves—making a power level of 25 critical for survivability. Consider stocking up on healing potions and having the Immunity spell at the ready for emergencies. Remember, shedding your guard armor at the quest’s outset is necessary to maintain your cover when meeting Captain Shirker.
Steps to Complete The Lost Shipment
The adventure of The Lost Shipment unfolds through a series of methodical steps. Here’s how to conquer this quest:
- Travel to Brannof’s Dining Room.
- Meet Captain Shirker on the Vincible.
- Dine at the Delectable Dab.
- Engage in conversation with Captain Shirker.
- Locate the man in the Blue Waistcoat.
- Visit the hairdresser for a makeover.
- Head to the Hooked Hand.
- Catch a Fetid Flounder.
- Compose and send a message.
- Sell the Fetid Flounder.
- Follow the Stranger.
- Defeat the Thieves.
Step 1: Travel to Brannof’s Dining Room
Begin by making your way to Brannof’s Dining Room, located just west of the Town Square along Brannof Boulevard. Navigate through Brannof Hall’s Hallway to reach your destination.
Upon arrival, talk to Cohen, adorned in a green tabard with a quest marker above him. He will divulge details about the lost Carthian Plumbatae and direct you to Captain Shirker.
Step 2: Visit the Vincible and Meet Captain Shirker
After removing your Guard attire, navigate to the Vincible by heading south towards the water, then east until reaching the East Waterfront. Proceed down the second dock to find the ship.
Onboard, Captain Shirker awaits by the wheel. Engage him in conversation and suggest dining together; he will propose the Delectable Dab as a dining venue.
Step 3: Enjoy a Meal at the Delectable Dab
Accompany Captain Shirker to the Delectable Dab, positioned beneath the Training Ground. A quick teleport from the Vincible to the Portal Stone is advisable, then head through the Training Ground and take the first major right to the restaurant.
Inside, engage in casual dialogue with the Captain, avoiding any mention of the shipment or Guards. Explore all dialogue options until discussing the Lost Shipment becomes unavoidable, prompting Shirker to share his lead about a man in a blue waistcoat.
Step 4: Locate the Man in the Blue Waistcoat
The man you’re seeking is found in the Town Square, just south of Stone Street. Speak to him, and he’ll mention Monobrow Sam. However, you’ll need to assume Sam’s identity, necessitating a trip to the hairdresser.
Step 5: Visit the Hairdresser
The hairdresser is just off Old Street West, in the first accessible house on the left. A haircut will cost less than 10 silver, and make sure to ask for a monobrow to enhance your impersonation.
Step 6: Proceed to the Hooked Hand
Now sporting your new look, head to the Hooked Hand located off Central Waterfront. Inside, you’ll find two men, Wellington and Nelson. Engage them without mentioning the Guard or Lost Shipment.
During your conversation, Harris Slant will appear. Ask about the plumbatae to unveil your next lead about a character known as The Illusion, which will prompt the necessity to catch a Fetid Flounder and send a message.
Step 7: Catch the Fetid Flounder
The elusive Fetid Flounder can be found in the Overgrown Pond, just north of Sea Road. Keep an eye out for this fish amongst the Pond Weed and use your fishing rod to catch it. Remember, a Fishing level of 25 is mandatory for this task.
Step 8: Dispatch a Message
After securing the Flounder, you must draft a message. This can be easily accomplished at Brannof’s Chamber. Teleport to the Portal Stone, navigate through the Town Square and Westward until you locate the Chamber. Inside, collect a Quill and Paper from the desk to compose your message concerning the order for the plumbatae.
Step 9: Discard the Fetid Flounder
Next, head to the Frequently Fresh Fish Stall on Eel Street, situated south of the Town Centre, to sell your Fetid Flounder to Flounder the Fishmonger, who will reluctantly take it off your hands for a fee. Following the transaction, conceal yourself in a nearby bush to observe a Furtive Stranger emerging to purchase the fish.
Step 10: Track the Stranger
Once the transaction is complete, it’s crucial to follow the stranger. Move through Wilhope Crossing and along Wilhope Passage until arriving at Monob Row— an area thick with seedy undertones.
Should you maintain your stealth behind the Stranger, they’ll gain access to a door, enabling you to follow suit. Before entering, remember to equip your guard armor once again; you’ll need it.
Step 11: Confront the Thieves
Inside, you’ll find a Thieves’ Den guarded by two formidable foes. Ensure that you have your Healing Potions handy and your Guard level in check, as this fight will be challenging.
Once you overpower the two Thieves, you can await the Guard’s arrival to wrap up the investigation.
Rewards from The Lost Shipment
Upon defeating the Thieves, you will receive notable rewards that significantly contribute to enhancing your Fisherman XP and Guard XP:
- 15,600 Fisherman XP
- 17,200 Guard XP
- Rare Carthian Leads
