How to Acquire Each Type of Incense in Metaphor: ReFantazio
You can acquire every type of Incense in Metaphor: ReFantazio through regular gameplay—exploring dungeons, fusing Archetypes, completing quests, and engaging in activities across various towns. Although each Incense is plentiful, some are easier to locate than others.
Hero’s Incense
As the most prevalent type, Hero’s Incense can be found in various places, including the Regalith Grand Cathedral and Belega Corridor dungeons, where they appear as glowing blue objects interactable by players. The boost of 100 A-EXP from each Hero Incense is particularly useful early in the game for rapidly leveling Archetypes to unlock new attacks.
You can also easily obtain an extra Hero Incense by giving a Medicinal Herb to the Main in Pain NPC located on Sunshade Row in Grand Trad. Furthermore, completing the quest “More’s Task: Foreward and Prologue,” which will be automatically unlocked during the storyline, can earn you three Hero Incenses at once with relative ease by simply leveling up the Healer Archetype.
Health Incense
So far, we have only uncovered one Health Incense in Metaphor: ReFantazio, which can be found in the Regalith Grand Cathedral, specifically after the Royal Funeral scene but prior to welcoming Hulkenburg into the party.
Strength Incense
Similar to the Health Incense, the only known location for Strength Incense is within Belega Corridor. This incense can be missed since it is located in an optional dungeon accessed via the side quest “A Bullish Embargo,” which you unlock by increasing your Wisdom to help the Igniter Merchantress.
Hero’s Fruit
As you delve deeper into Metaphor: ReFantazio, Hero’s Fruit can be seen as a significant advancement from Hero’s Incense, providing five times the A-EXP for Archetypes. We’ve primarily obtained Hero’s Fruit as a reward for unlocking different Archetypes for each party member through More.
Magic Incense
During our gameplay, we found Magic Incense to be quite elusive, only available in rare locations, such as the Reception Chamber in Regalith Grand Cathedral, before battling a group of Spekto to shatter the black Magla crystal in Grand Trad.
Energy Incense
This Incense is similarly rare within Metaphor: ReFantazio; our sole discovery of Energy Incense was obtained after defeating Zorba.
Hero’s Lead of Light
Hero’s Lead of Light can be viewed as the ultimate version of Hero’s Fruit, offering an incredible 1,000 A-EXP to an Archetype as opposed to the lower values of 100 or 500. This powerful Incense is only available after leveling up an Archetype to the Master Rank.
