The Takeover system in NBA 2K25 has been revamped to feature a total of 70 takeovers, showcasing 14 distinct abilities. To unlock Takeover, players must fulfill specific requirements for their MyCAREER character, which are outlined in this guide. Understanding Takeovers in NBA 2K25

Each Takeover in NBA 2K25 targets different player attributes and operates on a five-level system, progressing from Level 1 to Level 5 as you heat up. Your Takeover Meter fills up based on your performance during games, enhancing the targeted attributes as you reach higher levels. This process is automatic, so there’s no need to manually activate your Takeover. However, poor plays can decrease your Takeover Meter.

At Level 5, you’ll gain access to a powerful Takeover Ability that can make you a dominant force on the court for a limited time. Initially, you can access Levels 1-3, with Levels 4 and 5 being unlocked through activating the previous level over 30 games. Importantly, all Takeover Level unlocks persist across different saves!

Additionally, in the MyPLAYER Builder, you can see which Takeovers you can unlock and the corresponding boosts that will affect your attributes. You can modify your Takeover selection at any time between games, choosing any that you meet the attribute criteria for.

The Takeover system in NBA 2K25 differs from traditional animation requirements. If a Takeover is not bolded, you must meet a specific attribute requirement as indicated in the Rating column. If a Takeover has two additional bolded entries, you can satisfy the Rating requirement using either of the associated attributes of the Takeover.
