Comprehensive Guide to Pokemon Go Magnetic Study Event – Schedule, Rewards & Timed Research Details

Pokemon Go has introduced an exciting new event format focusing on certain types of Pokémon. Kicking off this initiative is the Magnetic Study event, set to occur in mid-October.

This fresh multi-day event concept, referred to as a “study,” enhances the likelihood of encountering particular Pokémon of the same type. The inaugural event, aligned with the Max Out season, is named Magnetic Study and will shine a spotlight on several Electric-types throughout a limited time period.

Magnetic Study Event Schedule

The Magnetic Study event will take place from October 15, 2024, at 12:00 AM until October 17, 2024, at 11:59 PM local time. Currently, no paid tickets are required, so any player with the app can participate.

Event Bonuses for Magnetic Study

One of the highlights of short-term events in Pokemon Go is the array of event bonuses. Below is a list of the enhancements available during the Magnetic Study event. Keep in mind that each day’s bonuses will be unique.

Date Bonuses
October 15 Double XP for catching Pokémon
October 16 50% increase in XP from Raid Battles
October 17 Double Stardust for catching Pokémon

While it’s unfortunate that these bonuses won’t all be available simultaneously, it’s a fantastic opportunity to accumulate XP and Stardust.

Timed Research Rewards During Magnetic Study

new Timed Research tasks to complete. The rewards differ daily, focusing on one of three Electric-type Pokémon: Plusle, Minun, and Magnemite.

Here are the rewards available through the Magnetic Study Timed Research.

Date Rewards
October 15 – Encounters with Plusle
– 5000 XP
– 2,500 Stardust
October 16 – Encounters with Magnemite
– 1 Magnetic Lure Module
October 17 – Encounters with Minun
– 5000 XP
– 2,500 Stardust

It’s essential to complete the Timed Research tasks while they are active, as they must be finished by October 17, 2024, at 11:59 PM local time, or they will no longer be accessible, and progress will be lost.

Field Research Encounters During Magnetic Study

Throughout the Magnetic Study event, certain Field Research tasks will grant encounters with Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun.

All three Pokémon have a chance to be Shiny.

Is the Magnetic Study Event Worth Participating In?

Participating in free events in Pokemon Go is nearly always worth considering due to the various boosts and rewards available.

However, examining the featured Pokémon closely, players might prefer to conserve their resources for the Wild Area 2024. Both Plusle and Minun aren’t particularly competitive, do not evolve, lack Mega Evolutions, and are fairly common.

The standout Pokémon in this event is definitely Magnemite, as it can evolve into Magneton using 25 Candies or Magnezone with 100 Candies.

Magnezone boasts a powerful move set that includes Wild Charge and Charge Beam, making it effective in both offensive and defensive roles during PvP and Raid Battles. The Magnetic Study event is an excellent opportunity for players to stock up on Magnemite Candy and potentially acquire high-quality Magnemite through the Timed Research encounters.

In summary, if you’re in need of a reliable Electric-type Pokémon for your team, the Pokemon Go Magnetic Study event presents a cost-free way to secure one.
