After a week of playing Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, it’s clear that while the game is an exhilarating experience, it does have some peculiarities, such as an insufficient tutorial that misses crucial details regarding the HUD. If you’re puzzled about the various elements displayed on your screen, fear not—we’re here to assist! Let’s dive into the HUD (heads-up display) to help you concentrate on winning rather than puzzling over its components.
Understanding the HUD in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO
The HUD acts as your in-game user interface, providing essential information necessary for managing your character and strategizing effectively. Consider it your central command for battles, showing everything from health status to Ki levels, Skill Points, and much more. Here’s a guide on how to interpret each section of the Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO HUD, so you can leverage it to your advantage.
HP Gauge
The HP Gauge indicates the remaining health of both you and your opponent. The concept is straightforward: take a hit? Your HP decreases. Once your HP depletes completely, it’s game over. The gauge will change color from blue (indicating high health) to orange (indicating low health), which helps you quickly identify when you’re in a precarious situation.
HP Bar
Corresponding with the HP Gauge, the HP Bar visually represents the health layers you possess. Since both bars share matching colors, you’ll instantly know how close either you or your rival is to defeat.
Ki Gauge
Your Ki Gauge reflects your energy (Ki) essential for executing special moves like beams and quick dashes. You can build up Ki either by charging it or dealing damage to your opponent. A fully charged Ki Gauge allows you to begin filling your Sparking! Gauge, enabling you to unleash formidable combos in Sparking! Mode. Just keep in mind that activating Sparking! Mode requires a Skill Point, which we’ll explain further below.
Skill Count
Skill Count indicates the number of Skill Points you’ve accumulated, which are vital for enhancing your character’s transformations, fusions, Sparking! Mode, and special abilities. You can earn Skill Points by filling the curved blue bar next to your current Skill Points. Charging Ki also contributes to this curved bar, allowing you to stockpile Skill Points.
Transformation Icon
The Transformation Icon shows you how many transformations are available for your character, which require Skill Points to activate. For instance:
- Goku → Super Saiyan 1 = 1 Skill Point
- Goku → Super Saiyan 2 = 2 Skill Points
- Goku → Super Saiyan 3 = 3 Skill Points
Returning to your base form doesn’t cost any Skill Points, but retransforming later will necessitate recharging those Skill Points.
Switch Icon
The Switch Icon allows you to alternate between team members. You can have a maximum of five characters on your roster (with one active and four on standby). Keep in mind that there is a cooldown for switching, so use this feature strategically.
Hit Count
The Hit Count tracks how many hits you’ve successfully landed during a combo and the total damage inflicted. Monitoring this count is crucial for maximizing your damage output and enhancing your combo effectiveness.
Timer
The Timer keeps track of the remaining time in the match. In single-fighter bouts, the timer is set for 300 seconds, while battles with multiple fighters extend to 600 seconds.
Now you have a thorough understanding of the HUD in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. With this knowledge at hand, step into the arena, unleash your might, and assert your dominance over the universe!
