Confused Players Question Changes in Pokemon Go Store

Despite the recent changes rolled out to the in-app shop of Pokemon Go, players remain confused and have raised concerns about their purpose and potential impact on the game’s future.

The recent update to the storefront included discount labels for different bundles, but there were no actual changes to the prices.

Instead, the cost of Pokecoins for in-demand items like Premium Battle Passes and Hatch Boxes have been adjusted to account for the savings customers receive when purchasing bundles instead of individual items.

For instance, buying three separate Remote Raid Passes at a cost of 195 Pokecoins each would result in a total of 585 Pokecoins.

The price of the three-pass bundle remains unchanged at 525 coins, the same as it was before the update. The label “10% off”reflects the savings of 15 Pokecoins that would have been spent if three Raid Passes were purchased separately.

A player on Reddit asked, “Isn’t 525 the regular price for three Remote Raid Passes? What is this?”This sparked a discussion among other members, who shared their theories on why the feature was introduced.

One doubtful response compared the situation to department stores increasing prices by 10% and then offering a 10% discount, while some others referred to it as a “psychological tactic.”

“I am concerned that this may be the beginning of attempts to further raise prices. While I understand that the discounted price reflects purchasing three items individually, I am uneasy about the implications of this alteration,”another player expressed.

Despite having done so in the past, Niantic has not shown any indication of planning to increase the prices of any items currently available in the store for Pokemon Go.

The upcoming month is set to be a big one for Pokemon Go. Along with the anticipated reappearance of Mega Rayquaza on August 2, Adventure Week is also slated to begin on the same day.
