Conor McGregor hails “life changing” UFC 300 decision from Dana White

Dana White’s decision to raise the fight night bonuses at UFC 300 from $50,000 to $300,000 has been described by Conor McGregor as “life changing”.

White, the president of UFC, declared that the bonuses for Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night at UFC 300 will be raised from $50,000 to $300,000.

McGregor expressed his gratitude to Dana White and the UFC on social media for increasing the prize money. He tweeted, “Huge shout out to Dana White and the UFC for raising the bonuses to $300k!”on X (previously known as Twitter).

“The money earned from this event has the potential to change lives. It is crucial to prioritize the well-being of the fighters. McGregor then stated, “I am certain that we will witness an explosive event at UFC 300! I am eagerly anticipating it!”

The Fight of the Night award is presented to the two fighters who are involved in the most outstanding bout of an event. Two Performance of the Night awards are also typically given to the fighters who achieve the most impressive stoppage victories, resulting in a highlight-reel performance.

In 2009, UFC 100 witnessed the distribution of $100,000 bonuses, while the most recent instance of bonuses worth over $50,000 ($75,000) being given out was at UFC 262 in 2021.

White’s announcement is sure to provide an extra boost of motivation for the fighters, as fans are eagerly anticipating a thrilling night of fighting regardless of the heightened bonuses.
