However, his attacks can be anticipated and learned, providing opportunities to exploit his brief moments of vulnerability.
By identifying the conclusion of each attack, you can discover opportunities to retaliate safely without sustaining any harm.
1. Location of Guangzhi Boss Fight
To locate Guangzhi in Black Myth: Wukong, first navigate to Chapter 1: Black Wind Mountain and proceed to the Forest of Wolves area. Once there, make your way to the ‘Outside The Forest’ Keeper’s Shrine and continue forward. Defeat the optional Wandering Wight boss along the way to obtain its spirit.
After defeating the boss, take the western path located between two stone pillars and follow it until you come to an entrance marked by a head statue. Once inside, you will find Guangzhi waiting for you in the center of the area.
Guangzhi Boss Attack Patterns

By closely observing his movements for a brief period, one can predict his major combinations and take advantage of openings to counter his attacks.
Prior to confronting Guangzhi, it would be wise to make preparations by:
- Accumulating Sparks by defeating enemies.
- You can access Foundation and Staff skills from the ‘Self-Advance’ menu by unlocking them.
- Emphasizing the initial Smash Stance.
- By learning techniques such as Resolute Counterflow and Force Unbound, one can gain an upper hand.
The difficulty of this battle is due to its early occurrence, which restricts the available attack strategies. Yet, utilizing a Spirit and obtaining a skill at the beginning of the game can greatly influence the result. If you find yourself underpowered, you can always come back to this fight at a later time.

When Guangzhi reaches half of his health, he suddenly unleashes a new, bold aerial moveset that includes:
- Aerial Spin: Guangzhi propels himself upwards, swiftly air-dashes towards you, and rotates as he approaches. Evade his attack and retaliate with powerful strikes.
- Execute Two Swipes and Run: Use a staggering attack, reserve Immobilize for this move, and follow up with powerful counter attacks.
Overcommitting is a surefire way to meet your demise. The enemy’s retreats are often a deliberate tactic to bait you into a deadly spin, dash, or throw. Avoid spamming dodge or heavy attacks, as they will only lead to your demise. Instead, strategize and time your moves precisely to emerge victorious.
5. Rewards for Beating the Boss
After defeating Guangzhi, interact with the scorched polearms to unlock the Red Tides spell in Black Myth Wukong. This will enable your character to transform into Guangzhi and inherit some of his moves, such as:
- Light attack: Moon Dance
- Heavy attack: Moon Chase
It should be noted that a complete Might gauge is necessary for transformation.
- During transformation, the Might bar depletes slowly, but landing heavy and special attacks speeds up the depletion.
- Additionally, de-transformation occurs when the Might gauge is empty, or the transformed guai’s health is depleted due to damage.
- You can manually initiate the de-transformation process if necessary as well.
