In Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, there are multiple bosses, but none are as challenging as the Helbrute boss. This massive enemy delivers powerful blows and surprisingly quick movements. In fact, some attacks are so swift that you won’t even have time to react to them.
Tips for Defeating the Helbrute in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
One must be aware of two dangerous attacks while facing the Helbrute. The first is an overhead smash that occurs every time the boss cocks its hand backward. Even if one runs away from the attack, the boss will still jump towards them. This may appear strange as the Helbrute seems to slide towards its target, but the only way to avoid it is to dodge the attack as it comes. It is important to note that keeping a distance from the Helbrute does not guarantee safety.
On certain occasions, the red circle (indicating an attack) may not appear. It is important to always be prepared to dodge or roll if necessary.
Furthermore, if the Helbrute performs a smash attack towards the ground, you can effectively avoid it by executing a perfectly timed dodge. A red circle will appear to indicate this attack. However, once the Helbrute’s hand touches the ground, it briefly pauses before delivering another smash. This can be misleading, as it may tempt you to play defensively after dodging the initial attack, only to have the Helbrute quickly jump towards you for another strike.
The remaining attacks are relatively simple. All you have to do is keep an eye out for signs of an attack and evade or deflect accordingly.
Even if you are far from the boss and your teammates are tanking it, you still need to be aware of its attacks. When you notice the boss emitting a bright purple light, it is preparing to teleport. The Helbrute typically teleports to the furthest enemy for a surprise attack, so be ready to roll dodge or sprint away as soon as you see this.
While you can encounter other bosses or minibosses multiple times, the Helbrute boss in the campaign can only be found once. However, this boss encounter may reappear in future Operation missions.
