Controversial Heated Debate Surrounding Jung Hae In & Jung So Min’s Bed Scene in ‘Love Next Door’

In the 13th episode of the tvN weekend drama “Love Next Door,” which was broadcast on the 28th, the first intimate night between Choi Seung Hyo, portrayed by Jung Hae In, and Bae Seok Ryu, played by Jung So Min, was featured.

The scene captures the two characters lying next to each other in bed, exchanging affectionate lines while gazing into each other’s eyes. Lines like, “Why are you staring at me like that?” and “This moment feels like a dream. I can’t believe it,” were used to depict the atmosphere following their first night together.

However, viewer feedback was largely negative. Both actors appeared somewhat awkward, staying under the blanket with their shoulders exposed and maintaining the same posture for over two minutes, which disrupted the immersion.

Although the scene aimed to represent longtime friends transitioning into lovers and experiencing their first night together, this emotional atmosphere was not effectively conveyed. Audience reactions highlighted their focus on the actors’ rigid and uncomfortable positions, with comments like, “Who lies this far apart while talking?” and “The posture seems too modest,” leading many to attribute the awkwardness to inadequate direction.

“Love Next Door” is a romantic drama centered on a woman seeking to reboot her flawed life, intertwined with the chaotic journey involving “her mom’s friend’s son,” who represents her embarrassing past. It airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 PM.
