A small clip from an alleged interview with the individual behind the controversial smartschoolboy9 account has surfaced online, leading to mixed reactions from viewers regarding its authenticity.
On August 25, Nick Crowley explored one of Instagram’s most disturbing corners: smartschoolboy9 and its interconnected web of unsettling accounts.
Despite Crowley’s warnings, individuals have sought to connect with the person responsible for the notorious profile, leading to a concerning situation. While his identity remains unconfirmed, two names have come up in association with the account: David Alter and David London, both reportedly hailing from Doncaster, UK.
Now, YouTuber Eterna claims to have not only contacted ‘David’ but also interviewed him, subsequently sharing a clip online.
In the video, Eterna questions, “But David, should there not be a limit between expression and pure evil?” to which the individual responds, “Evil is a subjective topic. Society has designated what evil is, and we have accepted it… I will not let anyone take my individuality; I will not be dictated what is right or wrong.”
However, skepticism surrounds the clip: Eterna currently has just 27 subscribers, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the interview with smartschoolboy9, despite defenders arguing for its genuineness.
The video’s caption states: “I am being told I am not allowed to post this full video. Which is 14 minutes long. I have to resort to posting this short clip where I speak with ‘David’ who goes by ‘David London’ on Facebook. He is also recognized by many as smartschoolboy9.
“This is the first public interview with him. We discuss poetry, and he shares details about his childhood. Again, I require confirmation to post the complete interview.”
Many viewers remain unconvinced by the clip, suggesting it’s someone impersonating ‘David’ for attention. One user remarked, “You’d have to be gullible to believe this is him,”while another commented, “Believing this is him reflects poorly not just on this Reddit community but on society as a whole.”
Another viewer noted, “I listened again, and it doesn’t sound like the voice from truth_sticks_11, which is linked to smartschoolboy9. Why wouldn’t he just release the full interview? It’s impossible to determine the authenticity from a short clip.”
In a surprising turn, one viewer claimed David “doxxed himself during the interview multiple times, and while he could easily censor those sections, they are vital to this investigation.”
“Once he receives permission, he’ll upload the full interview. Personally, I believe it’s the real deal,” they added.
The case’s subreddit has been flooded with discussions since the video gained traction, complicating the tracking of facts. Here’s what is known: the main account has been removed and was previously operated by an adult male dressed in a fitted school uniform.
It’s suspected that he also managed (or currently manages) other accounts featuring disturbing, warped, and explicit imagery of children, which often interacted with one another.
