Respawn’s Season 22 update for Apex Legends will include the addition of health bars, leaving players uncertain about how it will impact the overall gameplay.
The upcoming addition of Battle Sense to all Battle Royale modes will enable players to view enemy health bars when they are within their line of sight.
Despite the addition of the health bar by Respawn, many players remain unconvinced of its value and believe it may have been a mistake. On Reddit, one player suggested that the health bar should only be visible in casual modes and bot lobbies.
According to one Reddit user, the change was not necessary and has no place in ranked mode.

Some argued that including health bars could potentially diminish players’ ability to intimidate their enemies during a match. Currently in Apex, players are able to deceive their opponents by keeping their shields up despite having low health, causing them to think twice about engaging in a gunfight.
According to another Reddit user, even if my health is low, I can still use bats to heal and prevent myself from being knocked down. This way, I can use a sentinel shot or a well-aimed beam to force players with higher health to back off.
“Now, they will argue that I am unfit and will be more inclined to hurry. This will especially pose a challenge for Pathfinder, Rev, and Octane.”
Despite some players expressing resistance to the change on social media, others advised patience as the update is still a few days away from being implemented on live servers.
“We haven’t attempted it yet… Let’s give it a shot for a season and then base our opinions on our own experiences,”one player stated.
According to Respawn’s update preview, the new mechanic is aimed at newer and returning players, and may not be expected to have an impact on high-level gameplay or veteran players.
Mechanical additions, such as Battle Sense, can also be adjusted or modified in the live service game. In the event that this new addition does have a negative impact on gameplay, as some players anticipate, Respawn has the ability to remove it.
