Caroline and Phoebe Connell, the hosts of a podcast called Pretty Little Podcast, have accused two actors from the TV show Pretty Little Liars of “stealing”their podcast’s name. The Connell sisters have been using the name for their show for more than two years.
On Tuesday, April 9, Lindsey Shaw and Tammin Sursok, known for their roles in Pretty Little Liars, revealed that they would be hosting a new podcast called Pretty Little Podcast. The podcast will feature the two actors watching the show and discussing their experiences filming it.
Despite the news, there were some who were unsatisfied as the actors faced accusations of taking the name from a different podcast.
Caroline Connell, the host of The Pretty Little Podcast, took to TikTok to address the issue of two actors from the show Pretty Little Liars using the same name for their podcast. Despite hosting their show for more than two years, Connell expressed her concerns about the name being “stolen.”
She mentioned that she and her sister, Phoebe Connell, launched their podcast called the Pretty Little Podcast two years ago. Currently, they have released over 100 episodes and also offer merchandise for their followers to purchase.

“She expressed, “Our brand has been developed from the very beginning.”Despite feeling disappointed to see a podcast hosted by two celebrities who share the same name as our brand, I held onto hope that their content would be different from ours. However, this was not the case.”
Caroline clarified that the focus of her and her sister’s podcast was to recap each episode of the show and also touch on broader pop culture topics. However, based on the Instagram post, Lindsey and Tammin’s podcast would delve into the true crime aspects of the show in addition to recapping each episode.
As soon as Lindsey and Tammin release their first episode, Caroline and Phoebe’s podcast won’t show up on Google anymore. This will be an issue for both her and her sister, according to her statement.
She stated that they would bury them.
As the number of people commenting on the actors’ Instagram post grew, discussions about the existing podcast with the same name also increased. In response, Tammin replied as the comments began to dominate the conversation.
When she was requested to alter the name, she responded by saying: “The process goes through a network that is not within our control.”
Lindsey Shaw and Tammin Sursok have teased fans about their podcast on Instagram
Following this, the producers of the podcast contacted Caroline and Phoebe, stating that they were unaware of another podcast using the same name and argued that it was now too late for them to change it.
“Additionally, they asserted that this was acceptable as it is a “completely distinct production”featuring elements of true crime and interviews with other members of the PLL cast. The message concluded by extending an invitation for Caroline and Phoebe to join as guests on a future episode of their new podcast.”
Despite their podcast having a whole production team behind it, Caroline expressed skepticism towards their message. She believed that with a team behind them, someone would have taken the time to research the name before deciding on it.
The production team quickly released a statement stating that Caroline and Phoebe had agreed to a podcast swap, in which they would appear as guests on each other’s podcasts. However, this was not something that Caroline had agreed to.
Despite being urged by commentors to take action, Caroline and Phoebe have not made any further comments about the situation. It is uncertain if they will ultimately decide to change the name of their podcast or take legal measures such as sending a cease and desist letter or trademarking “Pretty Little Podcast”to prevent others from using the name.
