“The top-performing shotguns for PvP in Destiny 2 are known to remain consistent, however, a recent addition in The Final Shape has emerged as a dominant choice in all PvP modes, including Crucible, Competitive, and Trials of Osiris.”
Included in The Final Shape, The Pale Heart is the latest addition to Destiny 2’s patrol regions, featuring eight weapons that can be crafted. Although The Call and No Hesitation have been the top choices in PvE gameplay, Someday, a newly introduced weapon, has been gaining popularity in the PvP meta.
According to DestinyTracker, during the weekend beginning June 14, the Kinetic Shotgun was the most popular Legendary gun used in Trials of Osiris, with 4.24% of Guardians trying it out. This percentage surpasses those of Felwinter’s Lie at 1.12%, Imperial Decree at 1.17%, and even the highly dominant Matador 64 at 3.50%.
Drawing comparisons to Matador 64 is inevitable, as Someday boasts the same sought-after meta perks: Threat Detector and Opening Shot. This highly effective combination has been a staple in PvP for many years, as these perks significantly enhance crucial stats such as handling, accuracy, and range.
For those looking to utilize Someday, it is crucial to create this perfect PvP god roll.
- Barrel: Barrel Shroud
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Column 3: Threat Detector
- Column 4: Opening Shot
- Masterwork: Handling
Although Someday functions similarly to the top slot Matador 64, it does offer some significant benefits compared to other shotguns. The most notable advantage is that it can be crafted, allowing Guardians to select their preferred perks at The Enclave, instead of having to rely on farming Grasp of Avarice and relying on chance.
Another benefit is that Someday gains access to Enhanced Opening Shot, providing 5 additional Aim Assist and Range when activated compared to its standard version. Although it may seem like a small difference, in a close and intense PvP match, even the slightest advantage can make a significant impact.
One way to obtain Someday is by obtaining it as a drop from the Overthrow activity, or by focusing on Ghost in The Pale Heart after completing Micah-10’s post-story quests. Crafting Someday requires five Red Border drops to complete the pattern, and the quickest way to obtain them is through Deepsight Harmonizers.
