Crayon Pop’s Soyul Discusses Challenges of Parenting vs. Idol Life: No Plans for a Third Child

On October 29th, Soyul engaged with her fans during an “Ask Me Anything” session, where she addressed various inquiries. When posed with the question of whether being an idol or a parent is more challenging, she candidly replied, “Parenting is definitely more demanding. There isn’t a straightforward answer. I am striving to do my utmost, but each day presents its own obstacles. Balancing my time and efforts has become increasingly complex, especially as I now have two children—a boy and a girl.”

When inquired about the possibility of adding a third child to her family, Soyul stated, “Not at the moment. My second child is quite young, and I appreciate the current dynamic with both a son and a daughter.” She expressed her empathy for working mothers who are balancing job responsibilities with family life, commenting, “I’m just one individual trying to manage everything. There’s a never-ending list of things to accomplish, and time is always limited. I sometimes wish for those extra hours in the day. I have immense respect for working parents.”

She elaborated further, “But it’s quite remarkable, isn’t it? We navigate through it all. Ultimately, we are making it work. On hectic days, try to carve out at least five or ten minutes just for yourself or indulge in a favorite snack. As the kids mature, I’ll have more time to explore new hobbies.” Soyul reflected, “I had expected to find time to relax once they started kindergarten, but there remains an endless list of tasks, right? I completely resonate with that! Yes! I still have so much to handle each morning—like cooking and laundry—but after eight years, I’ve developed a rhythm to get things done quickly.”

In terms of her personal life, Soyul married Moon Hee-joon from H.O.T. in 2017, successfully navigating a 13-year age difference to build their family, which includes a son and a daughter. Their unexpected announcement of marriage, devoid of any prior dating speculation, captured public attention. Moon Hee-joon later showcased his journey as a father on KBS 2TV’s variety program “The Return of Superman,” which resonated widely with viewers.
