“Crazy as Hell” Horror Movie with Huge Twist “Blindsides” Fans as it Drops on Prime Video

After years of being overlooked, a horror movie from the late 2000s has recently gained a following on Prime Video, despite its runtime of less than 100 minutes.

Many unforgettable horror movies feature shocking plot twists, such as the revelation of Bruce Willis’ character being dead all along in The Sixth Sense (apologies for the spoiler after 25 years), the reveal of the killer(s) in Scream, and the disturbing final shot of Sleepaway Camp.

Despite being released in 2009, Triangle was one banger that went unnoticed. Unlike other movies with a major plot twist, this film is like a puzzle, keeping viewers guessing throughout (but I can’t say much more without spoiling it).

The film, directed by Christopher Smith (known for his work on the films Creep and Severance), depicts a group of friends, including Melissa George, on a boat excursion. However, their peaceful voyage takes a drastic turn when their yacht is capsized by a violent storm, and they must seek refuge on a deserted ocean liner. As the events unfold, their journey becomes increasingly bizarre and unsettling.

Upon discovering Prime Video, a fan encouraged fellow users on the horror subreddit to give it a chance. They cautioned others to enter with no prior knowledge.

“I highly recommend watching this movie with someone, as it would have made for a great theater experience. However, it is also a great choice for streaming and can be enjoyed multiple times. The film itself is definitely worth re-watching and I would like to congratulate everyone involved for creating such a fantastic film.”

According to one viewer, the film “boiled [their] brain”, while another viewer expressed, “Triangle is the first movie that audibly made me exclaim ‘Holy sh*t!’ The film is so unpredictable and wild, it’s one of those rare experiences where I wish I could watch it for the first time all over again.”

“It’s great to see this movie receiving so much praise. Without a recommendation from this subreddit last year, I would have never discovered it. It’s a thrilling, eerie, and clever film that can feel like a nightmare at times,”a user commented.

Despite its relatively low score of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, critics have praised it as a “hidden gem”and one of the most thought-provoking genre films of the decade.
