Creating a Lobby in Chained Together: A Step-by-Step Guide

Chained Together has quickly gained popularity on Twitch as the latest sensation that requires players to collaborate in order to reach the peak. However, before you join in with your friends, creating a lobby is necessary. Here’s a guide on how to do it.

Chained Together draws inspiration from popular games like Only Up and Getting Over It, tasking you and your friends with collaborating to overcome challenging obstacles and reach ultimate victory, that is, if you can endure the inevitable disputes that arise between you.

The game has already become a sensation on Twitch, as popular streamers such as DisguisedToast and LilyPichu attempt to beat it, with tens of thousands of viewers cheering them on live.

But, before you jump into the game alone or with friends, here are the steps to creating a lobby in Chained Together.

How to create a new session in Chained Together

To initiate a lobby, simply click on the Play option in the main menu and then select Host a Game.

There are several choices available for customizing your lobby. These include naming the lobby, setting a password, selecting the difficulty level, and deciding between Opened or Closed chains.

After selecting your options, you have the ability to create a session, wait for your friends to join the lobby, and choose your character.

The following is an overview of the functions of each option when setting up a new lobby:

You will be able to select from three different difficulty levels: Beginner, Normal, and Lava mode.

In the Beginner mode, you will have the ability to teleport to the highest point you have reached in case of falling, and there are three checkpoints available for you to load into. However, please note that in this mode, both Steam achievements and the leaderboard will be disabled.

In Normal mode, there are no checkpoints, meaning that if you fall, you will have to restart from the beginning. Your ultimate goal is to reach the top, and once you reach the summit, your time will be recorded and added to the leaderboard.

In Lava mode, lava will continuously rise from below you, requiring you to reach the summit before succumbing to it. Like before, there are no checkpoints in this mode.

Each chain option will have a different effect on you.

Using Opened Chain, your group will form a line with each member chained together. This positioning gives the person at the front of the line the most control and allows for quicker decision-making. It also allows the leader to have more freedom in making decisions for the group.

With the Closed Chain option, players will be connected in a continuous loop, emphasizing the need for teamwork. This choice demands greater cooperation than the Opened option and presents a higher level of difficulty.
