Creating Custom Lobbies in Deadlock: A Step-by-Step Guide

Getting into an online match in Deadlock is straightforward, but creating a custom lobby is more intricate. Here’s a guide on how to establish your own custom lobby.

As Deadlock is still in early access, Valve is continually refining the game, resulting in frequent updates that enhance the overall experience.

These updates include numerous hero and item balance adjustments, map and gameplay changes, as well as the introduction of a new reporting system.

While it may seem that a custom lobby feature is absent in Deadlock, it does exist; however, it isn’t prominently featured.

If you’re aiming to explore the map or create a private match with friends, here’s how you can set up a custom lobby in Deadlock.

How to Create a Custom Match in Deadlock

To access the custom lobby screen, type “private_lobby_create” in Deadlock’s console command. To open the command console, press F7 or the button you’ve assigned for it.

Upon entering this command, the custom lobby menu will appear.

Deadlock’s custom lobby is very simple

You can organize two teams: The Amber Hand and The Sapphire Flame, accommodating up to 12 players. Players can join a team by clicking on an available slot.

Next to the team options are some basic match settings, allowing you to choose the lobby’s server and whether to include bots, which come with three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard.

To invite players to join your lobby, you can either directly invite them from your friends list or send them the invite code available in the match settings.

There are two spectator slots for observers if you’re hosting matches. Unassigned slots are for anyone who isn’t playing or observing.

To begin the game, all players, including spectators, must click the ready button, prompting them to select their heroes. Once everyone has chosen their heroes, hit the start match button to begin.

After that, the match will commence, and you can either play normally or explore the map and experiment with different heroes.
