Diablo 4 has introduced a crossover with World of Warcraft that has players expressing their frustrations regarding the game’s class-restricted cosmetic options.
Blizzard Entertainment has merged two of its most popular franchises by launching a crossover featuring Diablo 4 and World of Warcraft. The Warcraft Legends cosmetics first came to light when dataminers discovered a notable WoW weapon embedded in the backend of Diablo 4.
With the release of the Vessel of Hatred expansion and the Season of Hatred Rising, this crossover has finally made its way into the game. Players can now find an array of distinctive cosmetic armors inspired by beloved WoW characters across all classes, including the new Spiritborn class.
While these new cosmetics are likely to attract fans, the fact that Diablo 4’s paid cosmetic options are limited to specific classes has left many players feeling dissatisfied. Some have even labeled this system as a “scam.”

It’s worth noting that this situation isn’t unique to just the new WoW-themed cosmetics; all purchased cosmetic armor transmogs in the game are tied to specific classes.
Given their cost—approximately $25 USD—only being able to utilize these items on occasion during gameplay may feel like a bit excessive for some players. “This is a significant reason why cosmetic microtransactions are less appealing in games like Diablo,” one player shared in a Reddit discussion on the topic. “In Fortnite, I can consistently use the skin of my choice.”
There are arguments suggesting that due to the various character model sizes in Diablo 4, creating a uniform set of intricate paid cosmetics may pose some challenges. However, since the game features multiple Battle Passes with thematic cosmetics available for all classes upon a single unlock, the capability to implement such a system seems feasible.
The debate over Diablo 4’s paid cosmetics has been a hot-button issue since before its official launch. Nevertheless, this has seemingly not deterred Blizzard, as evidenced by the impressive sales figures for Diablo 4’s microtransactions that the company has disclosed.
