Criticism of Diablo 4’s Gold drop rates despite 35% event boost

Despite a 35% increase in Gold drops in Diablo 4, players remain dissatisfied with the low rate of loot and are not won over by the boost.

Despite a successful Season 4 launch and a 35% increase in Gold drop rates during Mother’s Blessing, Diablo 4’s one-year anniversary has not had the most favorable beginning. Some players have begun to voice their dissatisfaction with the low drop rates.

The inclusion of Mother’s Blessing in Diablo 4 has been a longstanding feature, allowing players to obtain increased XP and Gold drops. These elements are crucial to the gameplay experience, yet it appears that they are not sufficient to fully satisfy players.

In the Diablo 4 subreddit, ‘Guilliman88’ shared their thoughts on the matter, stating that the increase in gold from mobs dropping 2000 to 3000 was still insignificant. The user emphasized that the gold bonus should have been much higher, at least 350% or 3500%, instead of a mere 35%.

Despite the overall impressive quality of loot in Season 4, players have still expressed a desire for more Gold during the Mother’s Blessing event due to the significant reduction in Gold drops. The current 35% amount is not sufficient for some players.

Farming Gold has been quite difficult in Season 4.

According to one player, the main issue is that decision-makers are not actively participating in the game. They expressed a desire for the developers to prioritize their needs, while some players believed that the Diablo 4 devs had significantly mishandled the event.

Despite the low Gold drops, Season 4’s performance was already impressive, and a larger boost during Mother’s Blessing would have been a great addition. With the increasingly high costs of Masterworking and Enchanting, more Gold is always welcomed, especially during important events like this.

Despite this, future Mother’s Blessings will still occur. Throughout each season, Diablo 4 has consistently held this event in Sanctuary. It is uncertain how the developers will address the feedback regarding Gold drops moving forward.

If you’d like to explore additional D4 options, there are some excellent Barbarian, Druid, and Necromancer builds that align with the current meta.
