Criticism of Unusable Weapons in Black Ops 6 Warzone Sparks Backlash from Fans

Warzone is expected to feature all weapons from MW2, MW3, and Black Ops 6, causing concern among fans about the developers’ ability to effectively balance the vast array of options.

The previous titles, MW2 and MW3, had weapon counts of 76 and 57 respectively. It has been confirmed that Black Ops 6 will include 12 new weapons, as well as a variety of beloved favorites. This brings the total number of guns in Warzone for BO6 to at least 150.

Raven Software will face a challenging task in achieving the ideal balance between short and long-range meta options, particularly as players have already expressed dissatisfaction with the current buff and nerf decisions.

JGOD, a popular Call of Duty YouTuber, criticized the “atrocious”weapon balancing in the current battle royale. He argued that despite seasonal updates, the game has still failed to improve the viability of certain guns that are rarely used.

Additionally, with the current issues surrounding the MW2 and MW3 weapons, it is likely that there will be even more problems in BO6 according to public opinion.

Upon the release of the news by CharlieIntel, a large amount of negative comments flooded the comment section.

“One player questioned why there were so many guns if the weapons from MW2 and MW3 were going to be rendered unusable.”

“A second user expressed doubt about the game developers’ ability to balance three sets of weapons in Warzone, given their struggle to balance the current two sets.”

Despite feelings of anger and frustration, players also couldn’t help but feel pity for the developers given the immense task they are facing.

A third commenter expressed concern for the developers, stating that the upcoming weapon balance is going to be intense.

Despite all of this, there is still one glimmer of hope that could potentially aid in improving weapon balancing. Treyarch has made significant changes to the gunsmith in Black Ops 6, where the majority of attachments offer one or two positive effects rather than a multitude of drawbacks as seen in previous games.

In theory, creating loadouts should become easier with the use of these attachments, as they can enhance the performance of weaker weapons. However, we will have to wait until we can try the upcoming battle royale ourselves to confirm.

100 Thieves Asuna addresses speculation about potential addition of former Sentinels player to Valorant teamThe Valorant esports offseason is currently underway and there is already speculation about teams making changes. However, a report regarding 100 Thieves and their roster has been swiftly dismissed by Peter ‘Asuna’ Mazuryk. The current roster of 100 Thieves in Valorant is in an intriguing position as all members are approaching the end of their contracts this year. It is anticipated that the team will retain its roster for the upcoming 2025 season, given their successful performance at Masters Shanghai and narrowly missing out on qualifying for Valorant Champions 2024.According to a recent report from VLR insider James, on August 29, it was revealed that 100 Thieves is currently testing out former Sentinels player Eric ‘Kanpeki’ Xu for a potential spot on their 2025 roster. Kanpeki has a strong track record in the North American scene, having previously played for notable teams such as Akrew and EZ5 before joining Sentinels and TSM.Still, within an hour of its posting, 100 Thieves player Asuna disproved the report through a tweet.”While I do have a great admiration for Kanpeki, I highly doubt that 100 Thieves would consider giving my friend a trial,” he stated while streaming and reading the report.Asuna has immediately denied that 100 Thieves are trialing Kanpeki // #VALORANT https://t.co/gDMTQC76aY pic.twitter.com/6Gw4zU8P1D— Valorant News (@ValorINTEL) August 29, 2024Despite rumors and reports about trials and rosters, players have consistently denied them in order to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of confirming such information. This is especially important for teams as they make decisions on which players to sign and negotiate salaries for.Despite Asuna dismissing the rumor, it should be noted that he is not a part of 100 Thieves management and may not have access to information regarding potential players being trialed or considered for the 2025 roster. In 2024, Kanpeki participated in the North American Challengers League as a member of Together We Are Terrific in Stage 1. However, he has since played for several amateur teams and on August 7, announced his search for a team to compete in VCT Americas or the Challengers League for the 2025 season. The Valorant offseason is in full swing, and this rumor is just one of several that will likely surface in the coming weeks as players become free agents and teams strive to construct championship-worthy lineups.
