Despite the ongoing chaos caused by the Crowdstrike BSOD errors, the situation has sparked countless reactions from users worldwide, whether they have been directly impacted or not.
Large corporations and enterprises around the world have been struggling to deal with the IT error in Crowdstrike Falcon that disrupted their work day. This issue has affected numerous systems that rely on the cybersecurity service, from the aviation industry to payment systems, rendering them inoperable due to the infamous ‘blue screen of death.’
Despite the ongoing disruption caused by the IT error, both those directly affected and those not affected have found humor in the devastating aftermath. This has resulted in disruptions to businesses, banking, and healthcare industries.
People have been utilizing various social media platforms to share posts in order to find some comic relief, amidst a tense situation.
On X/Twitter, Elon Musk also contributed to the conversation. The X executive shared a tweet reiterating his previous dig at Microsoft by likening it to the made-up company “Macrohard”, which he originally posted about in October 2021.
At the same time, the rest of the social media platform has been flooded with creative posts. One particular Twitter user, who goes by the name SwiftOnSecurity, shared a post with the caption “IT teams waking up this morning”along with a clip from the 2002 movie Resident Evil. The clip shows the main character, Alice, gazing out at the ruined streets of Racoon City after a zombie outbreak.
@TrickyKetchup was just one of the many users who celebrated “International Bluescreen Day”by sharing this post.
Everyone welcome international blue screen day, its basically Y2K but it’s real and it put the world on halt. Thanks, Crowdstrike. pic.twitter.com/BpOBY83LYR

Despite the ongoing IT complications, not all systems have been severely affected. However, social media posts continue to pour in. Users such as @Greyfore17 have shared their “luck”of their systems remaining completely unscathed.
Just my luck, with all the IT issues I ‘lucked out’ and my systems aren’t affected. 😆 So much for an easy Friday!

Recently, Mastodon, the open-source alternative to X, has been buzzing with tweets criticizing the ongoing developers.
Greg Egan, a science fiction writer, humorously suggested that in the event of the Crowdstrike outage, individuals should write down any important notes on paper and “tape them to your refrigerator door.”
During a crisis, it is common for humans to use humor as a coping mechanism. This is especially true in light of the recent errors at Crowdstrike and Microsoft, which have resulted in grounded flights, malfunctioning bank payments, and halted business operations.
Despite businesses still facing the consequences, the flood of entertaining social media posts will undoubtedly persist.
