Crunchyroll launches first brand campaign featuring Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna for India

The campaign showcases anime enthusiasts and Crunchyroll’s Indian representatives, actors Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna.

Despite its already widespread success, the anime streaming platform has been making concerted efforts to grow its presence in India. As part of these endeavors, numerous screenings have been held in the country, accompanied by modifications that enhance the platform’s accessibility for the Indian audience. These changes encompass reduced subscription rates and the incorporation of local payment options.

Crunchyroll introduces ‘Anime-fy Your World’ campaign in India

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, Crunchyroll debuted their inaugural ad campaign in India, titled “Wish Your World Was Anime.”This campaign seamlessly combines elements of real life and the world of anime, featuring superfans Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna fully immersed in the anime universe.

The streaming platform released two ad films on Saturday as a part of their brand campaign. The films featured Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna, who portrayed characters wishing for dream scenarios in their real lives. These scenarios included overcoming challenges and embarking on exciting adventures.

According to the streaming platform, the upcoming dynamic advertisements will debut during the IPL and will be available digitally on JioCinema during TATA IPL matches. The company has also organized a comprehensive marketing campaign which encompasses digital advertising and social media outreach.

The ad films stand out for their unique combination of original Japanese animation and live action. Tilt Brand Solutions was responsible for creating the live-action portion of the ad, while renowned anime studios in Japan handled the animated segment. This collaboration ensured the authenticity of the overall production.

The ad film featuring Tiger Shroff was created by ARECT, Inc. (Yakitori, Bright: Samurai Soul), while Drive Inc. (KonoSuba, To Your Eternity, Fate/Grand Order) created the animated ad film featuring Rashmika. The Creative Services Team of the streaming company oversaw the creative aspects of both ad films.

The background music used in the ad film featuring Tiger is an exclusive track produced by Donn Bhatt and featuring rapper Jagsifat. On the other hand, the ad film featuring Rashmika utilizes the popular song “Billo”by Excise Dept.

The company’s ‘Wish Your World War Anime’ campaign is designed to appeal to fans’ shared longing to embody the dynamic and courageous personas found in their beloved anime characters and series. By infusing their daily lives with the vibrancy and excitement depicted in anime, the campaign aims to resonate with fans. It is hoped that more India-specific advertisements will be released in the near future.
