Counter-Strike 2 players are ridiculing Valorant on social media due to the recent release of a Stiletto knife cosmetic, a design that has been a part of the Counter-Strike series since CS:GO.
CS2 and Valorant players frequently find themselves in rivalry because of the similarities between the titles and Riot Games’ tendency to introduce content reminiscent of Valve’s flagship games.
Currently, CS2 players are taking the initiative to mock Valorant’s new Aperture skin line for its inclusion of a knife skin that is rare and holds a high value in the Valve ecosystem.
Players have highlighted on social media that the Italian blade design has been a long-standing feature in Counter-Strike.
“Copying CS again I see… I’d also like to remind the Valorant community that this knife in CS is worth $300+ and you can sell it and get your money back if you ever want to. In Valorant, once you buy it, your money is gone forever unless you SELL your ACCOUNT,” one player commented on X.
They can copy all the CS skins they want, it won’t change the fact they are a waste of money https://t.co/Pw5gggt3eC pic.twitter.com/7La3aigl8S

Depending on its rarity, the Stiletto knife cosmetic can fetch thousands on the open market.
Valorant cosmetics tend to be more extravagant than the skins found in Counter-Strike. The Riot title often features imaginative elements, such as weapons that fire Nerf bullets or melee skins resembling axes or katanas.
The Aperture bundle marks one of the few skin lines from Riot Games that aims to emulate real-world weapons.
In contrast, Valorant players have displayed a more subdued reaction to the bundle, labeling it a little basic. Some have countered the criticisms coming from the CS community by arguing that the cosmetic is more wallet-friendly in Valorant.
“Sorry CS dinosaurs, but this is way better than your ugly Stiletto Blue Gen or whatever that costs an arm and a leg. Us NORMAL people can enjoy this skin for only $50 and it looks way better,” one X account remarked.
The Aperture bundle is set to debut in the Valorant in-game store with patch 9.05. The overall cosmetic line is anticipated to retail for approximately $50, with the melee skin individually priced below $35.
