CS2 Streamer ohnePixel Breaks Silence After Long Absence from Twitch

Renowned Twitch streamer ohnePixel has finally addressed his followers after suddenly stepping away from both streaming and social media without prior notice. In his update, the streamer shared his intentions to come back and clarified the reasons behind his break.

During the years 2022 and 2023, ohnePixel’s popularity soared, making him one of the most-viewed channels on Twitch, although he also began to take irregular, unexplained breaks. At one point, a viral meme led some to falsely believe he had passed away, a rumor he later dispelled. However, come August 2024, he went silent online once again.

Even in the midst of significant updates for Counter-Strike 2, he continued his absence, causing genuine concerns among fans. Moreover, several individuals claimed that he owed them money for work related to his streams, but their inquiries went unanswered.

When he streams, ohnePixel is typically the most-watched CS2 content creator.

On October 9, the German streamer took to X/Twitter to share an update, starting with the phrase “Bullsh*t aside.”

He disclosed that he had been feeling overwhelmed with various responsibilities, including streaming, managing a skin trading site he co-owns, overseeing his CS2 team, and handling “personal stuff,”along with planning his trip to China for the upcoming CS2 Major.

“I am disappointed in myself for acting in a way that led me to feel the need to just ‘drop everything.’ A simple heads-up letting everyone know I’d be away for a bit could have made a huge difference,” he mentioned.

“The issue is that I kept telling myself ‘just one more day, tomorrow we’ll be back,’ but as more responsibilities piled up, my business relationships soured and the community that I had cultivated over five years grew increasingly frustrated.

“The stress and anxiety kept increasing, and suddenly, I found myself at day 40 of the break.”

While he didn’t specify when he plans to return to streaming, he emphasized that he still has a passion for it, asserting that “this break was not an attempt to escape streaming but rather a means to cope with everything else that felt unmanageable.”

In response to concerns that he owed viewers money for their contributions, he clarified, “I settle all my invoices within one or two days (after the incident). The challenge lies in distributing those funds to individuals outside my team, and I apologize for any discomfort that’s caused.”

For the time being, his fans are relieved to see him active online once again; however, his return to streaming remains uncertain.

Nonetheless, he did confirm that he will travel to China to attend the second CS2 Major of the year, set to take place in Shanghai from November to December. This event will mark his first travel experience while streaming, instead of co-streaming from home.
