CUBE Entertainment Faces Backlash Over (G)I-DLE Fan Supporter Recruitment

Despite being one of many K-Pop companies, CUBE Entertainment has received criticism for reportedly taking advantage of fans of (G)I-DLE by enlisting unpaid ‘Fan supporters.’

The contentious statement made on Weverse has generated vast backlash and heightened worries about equal treatment and accountability in the field.

K-Pop companies are essential in coordinating events, promotions, and fan engagements for their idols. Fans are the foundation of every K-Pop group, displaying unwavering support at concerts, festivals, and other gatherings.

CUBE Entertainment announced on June 17 that they were looking to recruit ‘Fan supporters’ for (G)I-DLE. The post outlined specific requirements for the role, however, there was no mention of any form of reimbursement.

  • Must be a member of the (G)I-DLE NEVERLAND MEMBERSHIP
  • Must be 20 years or older (born before 2005)
  • Must be available for offline activities without time restrictions
  • Must not disclose fan club operations to outsiders
  • Must not be a supporter or officer of other artists’ fan clubs, both online and offline
  • Must be able to actively participate for (G)I-DLE and NEVERLAND”
