While the Nintendo Switch may currently dominate the console market, fans of Nintendo, and Pokemon in particular, continue to hold a sense of nostalgia for the Game Boy line. This is likely due to the strong association between the handheld consoles and the beloved franchise, even after many years have passed.
Despite the wide range of special Game Boy consoles officially released by Nintendo, players around the world continue to create their own custom versions of the consoles. These versions often yield impressive results.
The Pokemon TCG Reddit community was recently introduced to a unique Game Boy Advance SP, featuring a transparent shell and a stunning Venusaur SIR design from Pokemon TCG: 151, adding a pop of color to the overall appearance.

This one-of-a-kind GBA design has received over a thousand upvotes and has earned praise from fellow Pokemon enthusiasts, who particularly appreciate the clever incorporation of an authentic Pokemon card into the transparent casing of the Game Boy.
The design and color are receiving praise from numerous Pokemon players, with one individual noting that the “transparency and green hue are incredibly striking”and another commending the design as “extremely clever.”
At the same time, certain individuals are expressing concern about the designer’s use of an authentic (and rather costly) Pokemon card in the design. Many are stating that they would have instead “found a suitable image, resized it, and printed it on photo paper to achieve a more complete look.”
Despite some opposition, many others are showing their support and standing by the idea that the owner of the card has the right to decide what to do with it. One person comments, “This is really awesome, man. It’s your card and your money after all.”Another adds, “This is the true spirit of Pokémon, not just PSA grades. Keep doing your thing.”
