Actress Ahn Sohee conveyed her appreciation to the “Daechi-dong Scandal” crew for organizing a surprise birthday celebration.
A press conference was held on the 12th for the film “Daechi-dong Scandal”at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. In attendance were director Kim Soo-in and actors Ahn Sohee, Park Sangnam, Takuya, and Jo Eunyu.
The film is directed by Kim Soo-in, known for her refreshing perspective in Chungmuro through her work on “Dokin.”It tells the story of the meeting between Yoon Im (played by Ahn Sohee), a top instructor, and Ki Haeng (played by Park Sangnam), a schoolteacher. This encounter sparks rumors of leaked exam questions and forces Yoon Im to face her forgotten college days. Additionally, Kim Soo-in has written and adapted various films, adding to her impressive repertoire.
Ahn Sohee remembered the dedication she had put into embodying her role as the top instructor. She revealed, “Upon receiving the script, I extensively watched videos of different instructors on YouTube to gather insights.”She further elaborated that Director Kim’s personal experiences had been of great assistance. Ahn Sohee disclosed, “The director had previously worked as a Korean instructor in Daechi-dong and shared many of his experiences. I believe my character Yoon Im was inspired by the director himself.”
Additionally, Ahn Sohee extended her thanks to her colleagues from “Daechi-dong Scandal.” She recalled, “My birthday happened to land in the midst of filming and with our demanding schedule, I was concerned about staying on track, especially during the filming of lengthy and crucial scenes.” However, her worries were soon eased when her co-workers surprised her with a party during the shoot, creating a warm and welcoming environment. She expressed, “Their gesture touched me deeply, although I don’t think I properly conveyed my appreciation. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt gratitude,” accompanied by a smile.
Additionally, the release date for “Daechi-dong Scandal”is still scheduled for the 19th.
