Exciting news for Dan Da Dan enthusiasts – the long-awaited horror/sci-fi anime will be hitting theaters before its official streaming release in October. Read on to find out how you can catch all the action on the big screen.
Dan Da Dan, which gained immense popularity in the manga world last year, is eagerly anticipated by anime fans as one of the most thrilling upcoming releases. The series masterfully blends elements of horror and science fiction, promising a visually stunning experience, and fans are eagerly awaiting the adaptation by Science Saru, set to be released later this year.
Fortunately, fans of the occult won’t need to wait until October to quench their thirst. According to a press release on June 24, 2024, Dan Da Dan will be hitting theaters worldwide as soon as August 31.
Entitled ‘DAN DA DAN: First Encounter,’ this release will encompass the initial three episodes of the anime series, along with exclusive interviews with Yukinobu Tatsu, the author of the original manga, Shihei Lin, the editor, Fuga Yamashiro, the anime’s director, and Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae, the voice actors for Momo and Okarun, the series’ main characters.
Director Yamashiro eagerly anticipates the reaction of series fans as they witness the manga being brought to life on the big screen.
He stated that he utilized playful and visually striking techniques, specific to video, in order to transform this series into an anime. He believes that this approach has resulted in a highly entertaining structure for the series and hopes that viewers will experience it in a fresh and enjoyable manner compared to the manga. He also wishes for everyone to have a great time during the theatrical release.
Screenings for DAN DA DAN: First Encounter will commence in Asia on August 31, followed by Europe on September 7, North America on September 13, and various countries in Australia, New Zealand, and Africa throughout mid-September.
The fortunate cities selected to hold the screenings are New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Bangkok. As the release dates draw near, further information will be revealed by the theatrical premiere partners in each respective region.
Despite many anime series, such as Haikyuu!! and My Hero Academia, receiving theatrical releases for their movies, it is not typical for a series that has not yet officially aired to have a special premiere like this one.
This is the most recent update regarding the series, which has been receiving media attention ever since its opening theme generated buzz among online fans. The “perfect”band has successfully brought the manga to life.
