UFC president Dana White has shared his thoughts on Jake Paul’s recent challenge to Light Heavyweight champion Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira after his victory over Mike Perry.
Ever since entering the world of boxing, Jake Paul has challenged himself against notable names in the sport. However, the majority of his opponents have been MMA fighters, some of whom have departed from the UFC, rather than traditional boxers.
As a result, the former YouTuber who has now become a boxer has caught the attention of UFC president Dana White. The two have engaged in a series of intense verbal and digital exchanges, with Jake consistently urging White to increase fighter compensation and improve benefits.
Amidst all of this, Jake has continued to pursue fighters who are currently competing in the UFC. This list includes Conor McGregor and, most recently, Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira.
Dana has responded to Jake’s call out of the Light Heavyweight champion, stating, “The media falls for all of his nonsense.”The UFC president debunked allegations that he promised Mike Perry a return to the UFC if he won, in an interview with TNT Sports.
“I was unaware of Jake’s fight as I was on vacation in Italy. After his loss to [Tommy] Fury, I stopped following Jake Paul. It was clear that when he fought someone his own age who had experience in boxing, he did not perform well. However, I hold no ill will towards him and he no longer occupies my thoughts.”

White clarified that he currently has no issues with Jake, but reiterated his belief that Jake’s approach to his fights and actions are all nonsense.
Some analysts have also noted that Dana is hesitant to allow current UFC fighters to take a break from competing in the Octagon to pursue boxing, meaning Jake will need to reconsider his strategy.
