On Monday, August 19, 2024, the release date for the Dandadan anime series in October 2024 was officially confirmed. This announcement also revealed the ending theme song information for the series and provided a sneak peek of the opening theme song in a new promotional video. This was the first time the exact release date had been shared, as it had previously only been stated that the anime would be released in October.

The most recent promotional video for the Dandadan anime showcased a plethora of fresh scenes from the series, focusing on the exciting action that viewers can anticipate in the upcoming first season. This update is the first since the series was leaked earlier this month, an incident that Netflix has verified as being caused by one of their production partners.

Dandadan Anime Premiere Date Announced After Early Episode Leaks

As previously stated, the release date for the highly anticipated Dandadan anime has been officially confirmed for Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1AM Japanese Standard Time (JST). However, for those living outside of Japan, the release date will actually fall on Thursday, October 3. The official English X (formerly Twitter) account for the series has also announced that the show will be available for streaming worldwide on Netflix and Crunchyroll starting at this time.

The anime will first air in Japan on TBS and MBS’ Super Animeism TURBO programming block. Additionally, the series has been licensed by Crunchyroll and Netflix for global streaming, while GKIDS has obtained the rights for theatrical, videogram, and digital transactions. These rights primarily include the screening of the first three episodes of the anime at the DAN DA DAN: First Encounter theatrical event.

The initial release of the anime’s first few episodes will begin with a limited-time showing in Asia on August 31, followed by Europe on September 7 and North America from September 13-15. This release will then be expanded to include over 50 countries and regions, such as Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa, throughout the middle of September. The opening song, “Otonoke,”will be performed by the hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts, while the ending theme, “TAIDADA,”will be performed by ZUTOMAYO.

The voice cast for the anime includes Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase, Natsuki Hanae as Okarun, Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo-Granny, Kazuya Nakai as Alien Serpo, Nana Mizuki as Seiko, Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori, and Kaito Ishikawa as Jiji (Jin Enjoji). An English dub of the anime will debut at Anime NYC on August 24, with the presence of dub actors Abby Trott as Momo and A.J. Beckles as Okarun.

Fuga Yamashiro is serving as the director for the Dandadan anime series at Science SARU studios, with Hiroshi Seko acting as supervisor and scriptwriter. The music is being composed by kensuke ushio, while the character designs are being created by Naoyuki Onda. Yoshimichi Kameda is responsible for designing the aliens and supernatural entities in the series. The Dandadan anime is the official adaptation of the original manga series of the same name by Yukinobu Tatsu.
