Episode four, titled “Kicking Turbo Granny’s Ass,” launches straight into the action as Momo and Okarun return to the ominous tunnel haunted by Turbo Granny. They start off with light-hearted banter and rivalry about who should move forward first. However, things escalate quickly as Turbo Granny’s terrifying giant head blocks their path, ensnaring them. In a dramatic twist, she lifts her curse, leaving Okarun defenseless. However, Turbo Granny proves to be a formidable opponent. She calls on reinforcements in the form of a “location-bound spirit,” which manifests as an enormous, furious crab. Momo and Okarun flee at breakneck speed, utilizing one of Okarun’s powerful bursts to escape through the city while the crab gives chase. They manage to find a moment of respite in a nearby bathhouse, where Momo ingeniously manipulates her powers to rupture hot water pipes, boiling the crab and momentarily incapacitating it. Yet, the creature soon reemerges, angrier than before.
The chaos intensifies as Turbo Granny takes control of a group of people, forming a zombie-like horde to trap Momo and Okarun. In response, Okarun unleashes his second burst to break through the throng. Just when things seem bleak, Momo devises a wild plan—she commandeers a moving train, leading both Turbo Granny and the crab on a peculiar ghost-crab subway journey.
As it turns out, Momo had meticulously plotted this action with her grandmother. When the train crosses the city line, the protective wards they erected rapidly exorcise Turbo Granny and the crab spirit, enveloping the scene in a brilliant blue light, ultimately liberating Okarun from the clutches of the old ghost’s curse.

As the spirits dissipate, Momo catches a fleeting vision of the ghostly figures of young girls who had previously perished in the tunnel. Later, she, Okarun, and her grandmother revisit the tunnel to pay their respects. Momo’s grandmother shares a heart-wrenching story about the girls’ tragic fate, suggesting that Turbo Granny, in her distorted way, might have sought to console their unsettled souls. This emotional revelation offers Momo a newfound perspective on her abilities as a spirit medium.
The episode concludes with the trio back home, ironically celebrating their victory with a crab feast. Momo and her grandmother squabble comically over the final morsels while Okarun, still processing the events, finds it hard to partake. As they bid each other goodnight, Momo’s farewell—”See you tomorrow” —elicits a warm smile from Okarun, affirming that their adventures and their friendship have only just begun.
3. Speculations for Episode 5 of Dandadan
In the upcoming Episode 5, we can expect to witness Okarun and Momo navigating a fresh dynamic at school following their triumph over Turbo Granny and the crab spirit. With their friendship still in its infancy, there’s bound to be some endearing awkwardness—especially as Okarun’s classmates tease him and Momo’s gyaru friends may react unpredictably to their blossoming bond.

It’s likely they won’t settle in too comfortably before yet another supernatural anomaly disrupts their lives. Given their past encounters with aliens and powerful spirits, the likelihood of facing a new ghostly challenge on school grounds is high. This upcoming episode may also introduce potential allies who could join their quest, providing ample opportunities for Okarun and Momo to deepen their friendship and strengthen their skills.
Whatever unfolds next, it’s clear that the school life for both leads is about to become significantly more complex—and undeniably more thrilling!
