In a broadcast, Sandara Park revealed she’s envious after seeing 2nd-gen groups having respective comebacks – except but 2NE1.
Is it possible for the group to have a reunion?
Dara Reveals Why She Can’t Watch Music Shows + Feels Envious At 2nd-Gen Groups’ New Albums
Dara confessed her regrets after she stopped working as 2NE1 and as an idol.
On July 12, Sandara Park, who just dropped her self-titled Korean solo debut album on the same day, appeared on the Youtube channel, 1theK Originals.
In a segment called “Look Me Up,”the idol searched her name on various Korean popular websites and told behind-the-scenes stories about the information and comments she read.
In the video, Dara looked up her name on MelOn and recalled stories about the past songs and hits she released as a soloist and as a 2NE1 member.
Upon seeing the group’s breakup song, “Goodbye,”Dara reminisced the feelings she had back then and felt grateful for being able to bid her farewell to BlackJack (fandom). However, she confessed that it was the song she played the least as it was just too heartbreaking and sad to listen to.
At that moment, a fan suggested the idea of 2NE1’s reunion, after the successful return of Girls’ Generation and KARA.
Dara then confessed her feelings about seeing second-gen groups reunite.
“(2NE1) Us and Teddy (YG producer) had great teamwork. Our fellow singers who used to work with us returned as the whole group.
I don’t watch music shows often these days, so I’m not so familiar with current singers, because I found myself tearing up whenever I watch music shows or year-end awards after I stopped working as a singer.”
She hinted at her proud but envious feelings.
“However, I did watch the comeback shows of my 2nd-gen colleagues such as SHINee, 2PM and all.
Ah, I hope 2NE1 can be among them.”
Sandara Talks About Possibility of 2NE1 Reunion
In the same video, Dara discussed 2NE1’s reunion.
Although the quartet has reunited for a performance a couple of times after disbandment, Blackjacks and K-pop fans have been expressing their desire for the group to release a new album.
Regarding this, Sandara Park said:
“The right time will be the point. I really don’t know. It seems to be a big difficulty that the companies are all different. Should all four be free? Should all four be unemployed?”
There is also a response that their reunion is “less likely to be with YG and Teddy.”
Accordingly, Sandara Park said:
“We each have our own nests. And YG will be busy, too. They are so busy because they have to do BABYMONSTER with TREASURE.”
Despite this, the “T MAP”singer clarified that although they were disbanded in 2016, 2NE1 still exists.
“Just because we broke up doesn’t mean we’re not 2NE1. My personal wish is to do the waves in the back. The members surely feel the same way.”
