Daredevil: Born Again officially linked to Netflix show, and fans want one thing

The enduring superhero franchise is undeniably linked to the Netflix original, however, fans crave something extra from Daredevil: Born Again.

While Netflix has since integrated its own collection of Marvel TV shows into the MCU continuity, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist initially gained recognition as independent entities within their own individual groups.

The previous project is now making its way to the new streaming platform of Disney Plus, which is also the home of Marvel content. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have both confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will directly connect to the original series on Netflix.

Nevertheless, instead of adding to the excitement for the future, the announcement has led fans to hope for a different outcome – that Jessica Jones could potentially reappear in the MCU.

One fan expressed on Reddit their desire for the show to be successful, primarily because it could potentially lead to the return of Jessica Jones. Another fan echoed this sentiment, stating that they also need more of David Tennant’s character.

“Initially, I wasn’t a huge fan of JJ after Season 1. However, the casting for her, Luke Cage, and DD [edit: and Punisher!] was spot on,”a third commenter added. “It would be a shame if Krysten was not brought back in some capacity. Her chemistry with Kilgrave was toxic yet captivating, and even after his departure, she continued to shine despite some weaker writing.”

Despite the end of the 2015 series featuring Krysten Ritter and Carrie-Anne Moss in 2019, there is still potential for Jessica to make a comeback. The Defenders, which brought together the four Netflix heroes and featured appearances from minor characters across multiple shows, suggests that Jessica could theoretically reappear in the future.

According to Collider, D’Onofrio has confirmed that the show is connected to the Netflix series. Despite some confusion, he wants to make it clear that there is a strong connection between the two.

The details of how this connection will develop remain unknown. The production of Daredevil: Born Again has faced numerous obstacles, with frequent delays following Disney’s announcement of a “creative overhaul.”The original production team has departed, leaving the outcome of the project uncertain.

“While I have reservations about the potential quality, I am still committed to watching it. I am hopeful for a positive outcome,”one fan commented. Another expressed, “My main concern is that it won’t be terrible. That’s all I’m asking for.”

There is currently no confirmation of Ritter’s return to the MCU, but fans are hopeful.
