A Brief Recap of Date A Live V Episode 7
In episode 7 of Date A Live V, Artemisia is retrieved by Ratatoskr and the Fraxinus welcomes former JSDF AST members. Kotori orders MARIA to eliminate the DEM ships and launch an attack on Mio. Nia examines the light particles emitted by Mio, labeling them as the ‘instant death beam’ and also uncovers a separate realm surrounding Mio.
Despite the dangers, they approach the scene, discovering Mio engaged in battle with Tohka and Tobiichi in this alternate realm, with the other spirits defeated. Kotori launches Gungnir at Mio while Tohka and Tobiichi try to overpower her, but she easily overcomes them. As they enter the ‘other world,’ Fraxinus falls.
Kotori confronts Mio, who openly confesses her love for the spirits and reveals that she sees Kotori as her closest companion. However, Mio also admits that she would be willing to sacrifice Kotori to bring Shin back. In a shocking turn of events, Mio then takes Kotori’s Sephira without permission.
The focus then turns to Shido’s confrontation with Westcott and Nibelcole. Despite using his flying-kiss attack, Shido is unable to defeat Nibelcole as she shields her eyes. In a clever move, Shido transforms into Nibelcole in order to catch Westcott off guard, but his plan is foiled as Westcott had anticipated it with the use of Beelzebub. Nibelcole then restrains Shido, while Westcott reveals the true identity of the Magi and shares his motives.
Despite Westcott’s final blow, Miku and Natsumi come to Shido’s rescue. Together, they assist Shido as he strikes at Westcott, who arrogantly blocks the attack. Shido surprises Westcott with an unpredictable strike that successfully neutralizes Beelzebub’s powers, but he chooses not to end his life.
The episode reaches its climax as Mio successfully defeats Westcott, Miku, and Natsumi. She then brings Shido into her world, revealing that she has obtained all the Sephira and they can now be united for eternity.
