Despite the immense backlash, DAY6’s hour-long set at the Pentaport Rock Festival remains unchanged.
At the 2024 Pentaport Rock Festival in South Korea, DAY6 performed as a sub-headliner on August 4, 2024. While fans eagerly anticipated the JYP Entertainment band’s performance, it received criticism from South Korean netizens for falling short of expectations.
TheQoo, a South Korean online community forum, featured a post on August 7 titled “DAY6’s Pentaport concert receiving negative feedback.”The author pointed out various mistakes made by the group during their performance, including singing incorrect lyrics and not hitting the right notes.
Moreover, they committed errors with the instrumentals, and the set list was lacking in satisfaction.
Since the release of their mini-album “FOUREVER”in March, the group has been constantly busy with a variety of activities, including concerts, variety shows, and other schedules. Fans have witnessed the toll that their packed schedules have taken on their well-being. However, with more activities lined up, fans remain hopeful that the group will have ample time to practice and showcase their skills.
On the contrary, Korean netizens were even more critical towards the group. They pointed out that this was not the first instance of DAY6 forgetting their own lyrics, indicating that it was no longer an oversight that could be ignored. Numerous individuals questioned what had caused this decline in DAY6’s performance and also commented on their subpar singing on that particular day.
Numerous netizens urged fans to refrain from defending the group. They highlighted that in the comment section of their YouTube performance, the group was receiving harsh criticism for their subpar delivery and multiple mistakes. Attendees of the festival also noted that while the overall experience was enjoyable, there was a sense of unease whenever the group made a mistake.

There is a strong belief that DAY6 would benefit from spending more time practicing, as their recent performance highlighted areas for improvement. Given their positive reputation, numerous individuals have expressed their eagerness to witness an exceptional performance from the band.
K-Netz had some comments that read,
- “Why are people trying to defend them? Even the YouTube comments say it was so bad.”
- “They forgot their lyrics again?’
- “They really forgot their lyrics again? This isn’t some one-time innocent mistake anymore.”
- “I understand the criticism over lyrics and pitch, but why are people hating on the setlist? It’s not like everyone present is a DAY6 fan, so they won’t put songs that aren’t popular. They probably planned which songs make the most sense to play here.”
- “It’s just a fact that they weren’t good.”
- “Stop saying the hate is forced and go read the comments on the videos.”
- “Has DAY6 always been like this? Why are they so bad at singing?”
- “Honestly, it’s not like DAY6 was ever outstandingly good.”
- “If you check YouTube, people keep mentioning their pitch and lyric mistakes… They’re a band that I like, so I hope they put in more effort.”
