In a recent broadcast, Day6 Young K faced unreasonable criticism from fans of ITZY, known as MIDZYs, for making a comment directed towards Chaeryeong from ITZY.
On June 11, the first episode of “Full-Belly Chaeryeong, Hanging Out With a Friend”(Chae-Bae-Bul), a web entertainment show, was released on the official YouTube channel “Merry Go Round.”
This will be the first solo show hosted by the main dancer of ITZY. To start things off, they have invited her long-time friend, Day6 Young K, who has been her friend for 10 years.
Although there was an age difference and they were seen as senior and junior in the entertainment industry, the two have been friends since their trainee days at JYP Entertainment and their bond has remained strong throughout the years.
Before the episode, fans were already anticipating the teaser clip where Chaeryeong boldly posed a question to Young K.
“Who were you thinking of when you wrote the lyrics for, ‘You Were Beautiful?’ Was it me by any chance?”
Despite this, Day6 Young K responded with a blank expression and a nonchalant reply:
“I don’t think so at all.”

The specific part, when shared on X, garnered 1.4 million views and over 43k likes.
Despite it being intended as a joke between the two celebrities, some MIDZYs were offended on behalf of Chaeryeong because the lack of context led them to believe that Young K was being disrespectful towards the female idol.
Despite some fans suggesting that he could have responded differently, perhaps by playfully teasing her or laughing at the question, he ultimately displayed a “weirded out”facial expression instead.
Nevertheless, Young K was supported by MyDays and other MIDZYs who offered additional information about the show.
In the complete episode, Chaeryeong introduced the concept of the show, stating that the host and guest are considered as equal friends in the Full-Belly Universe, regardless of their age and seniority. This is why they use informal language.
The objective is to also generate “absurd”subjects and have casual discussions with the guest.
it’s literally theme of the show to say nonsense things they are just joking around with each other kpop stans are probably too dumb and friendless to get it https://t.co/krXqObHt9X

Furthermore, fans believe that if Young K were to jokingly mention thinking of Chaeryeong while creating the song, it could potentially lead to more backlash due to Chaeryeong’s status as a minor at the time.
Despite his denial during the full interview, Young K continued on by praising the idol, stating:
“It’s really sad I didn’t even think of you this much, but you were so adorable, cute and smart even when you were a trainee.”
