Dead by Daylight developers have announced a price reduction for certain characters in the game, but this change does not apply to all characters. Here’s what you need to know.
In Dead by Daylight, while some characters are available for free, most are locked behind a paywall. Players keen on acquiring new characters will be pleased, as the developers plan to lower the prices with specific exceptions.
According to a post on X, the team is making adjustments to the prices of some Original Characters as they expand the character roster. However, prices for licensed characters from downloadable content (DLC) such as Tomb Raider or Castlevania remain unchanged.
Starting September 12, 2024, the following original characters will experience permanent price reductions:
Survivors
- Ace Visconti
- Feng Min
- Kate Denson
- Adam Francis
Killers
- The Hag
- The Doctor
- The Clown
- The Spirit
With the new pricing, these original characters will cost only 125 Auric Cells or $1.25 USD instead of the previous 250 Auric Cells or $2.50 USD. Additionally, the price of Iridescent Shard has been adjusted down to 2250.
The Clown is one of the original killers in Dead by Daylight now available for a reduced price.
Furthermore, the price of the Maddening Darkness DLC has been lowered to $9.99 USD. This DLC includes all the characters mentioned above along with various cosmetic items. For new players or those who have not purchased them yet, this represents a significant bargain.
Feng Min offers one of the most advantageous perks: Lithe, which enables you to sprint after vaulting through a window or over a pallet, providing a crucial advantage when escaping the killer.
Meanwhile, Kate Denson’s Windows of Opportunity is invaluable for new players, as this perk allows you to see windows and pallets through walls, proving especially helpful when learning the maps.
Once you achieve Prestige 1 in your Bloodweb with these characters, their perks can be utilized on other characters, given they share the same role.
