Fuses can solely be obtained from Traders within the game; they cannot be crafted or looted from the surroundings. Each Trader sells fuses for $1,500, a price that remains unchanged regardless of how many fuses you purchase throughout your journey.

Initially, the cost of $1,500 may seem daunting, but as you delve deeper into the game, this expense becomes more manageable. It’s advisable to always carry at least two fuses before you venture into unfamiliar areas.

To use a fuse, open the map and look for a fuse icon, then navigate to the designated area. Here, you’ll encounter a fuse box, often located near a locked door or closed shutter.

Upon approaching the fuse box, you’ll receive a prompt to insert a fuse. If you have one available, your character will connect it, restoring power to the associated door or shutter, thereby granting access to locked areas.

These newly accessible zones often harbor a swarm of zombies. As you attempt to enter, you’ll also discover numerous supplies and a Zombproof Slayer Hoard crate, which can be looted after ensuring the area is zombie-free.

In addition to the lurking zombies, you may encounter various booby traps within these locations, such as shotgun trip wires and other lethal hazards.

These traps can be disarmed by luring zombies into them or by shooting them to trigger the mechanism, minimizing the threat they pose. Alternatively, you can approach the traps and disable them manually.

The weapon you obtain from the Zombproof Slayer Hoard crate will correspond with your character’s level, making it vital to wait until you’ve leveled up before attempting to loot these crates.

Fuse Carrying Capacity in Dead Island 2

You can carry a maximum of three fuses at any given time in Dead Island 2. Unfortunately, there’s no method to expand this fuse carrying limit, so three is your cap.

Managing three fuses can be challenging early in the game due to limited funds, but this changes significantly in the mid to late game when money becomes more plentiful, making it easier to maintain a stockpile of fuses.
