After much persistence, the Merc with a Mouth was able to bring his profanity-laced, excessively violent, and self-aware persona to the MCU.
Indeed, for those following the chronological order of the Marvel movies, it’s time to ask the kids to leave the room. Wherever Deadpool appears, expect violence, explicit language, and gory scenes, all of which disrupt the sacred timeline.
Even more exciting, the new film also features the return of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. It’s an extremely entertaining experience, loaded with hidden references scattered throughout that are a delight for fans to discover.

Who’s in the cast?
Ryan Reynolds returns as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and is accompanied by Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Despite a seven-year hiatus, Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine in the highly-praised film Logan. Some may question how the character can appear in Deadpool 3 since his death in Logan, but the explanation is quite straightforward: this is a different version of Wolverine, and there are many of them.
Despite this, Reynolds continues to wear the iconic red suit that gained fame in 2016 and concludes his trilogy by positively disrupting the MCU.
The group is accompanied by the familiar faces of Morena Baccarin, Karam Soni, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapicic, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, and Rob Delaney, who are all regulars in the Deadpool franchise.
The upcoming Deadpool 3 will feature Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, and Matthew Macfadyen as the sinister Paradox from the TVA.

Additionally, Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four will be portrayed by Chris Evans once again, Dafne Keen will reprise her role as Laura (also known as X-23), and Wesley Snipes will make his final appearance as Blade. Joining them is Jennifer Garner, who will embody the character of Elektra for the last time.
Amidst all the turmoil, there exists the Deadpool Corps – a group of Deadpool counterparts, with Lady Deadpool at the helm, voiced by none other than Blake Lively.

The initial teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine debuted during the 2024 Super Bowl on February 11, 2024. The complete trailer was subsequently unveiled on April 22, 2024. You can view it below.
The complete Deadpool 3 preview primarily focused on Wolverine, making references to 2017’s Logan and revealing his iconic costume. Additionally, it provided a glimpse into the relationship between him and Wade.
It is discovered that this version of Wolverine has disappointed many. However, this does not deter Wade from being determined to enlist his assistance, leading to a team-up. Life is full of uncertainties and sometimes we must face them alone… until Deadpool barges into your life.
In the sneak peek, Wade refers to himself as the “Marvel Messiah,”mentions Disney, and is ultimately pursued by the TVA.
The footage also highlighted the strong connection between the Merc with a Mouth and the greater MCU timeline as we approach Marvel’s Phase 6.
On June 8, another trailer was unveiled, featuring additional footage. The most exciting discovery for fans was the appearance of Lady Deadpool’s legs, causing a frenzy among internet users.
Deadpool & Wolverine Plot
In Deadpool & Wolverine, the Merc with a Mouth enlists the help of a team of misfits from different universes to prevent his timeline from being wiped out.
Ultimately, due to Logan’s death, Wade Wilson’s timeline is now devoid of its central figure and is deteriorating. Although Paradox desires to accelerate this process, he is prepared to allow Deadpool to transfer to the sacred timeline prior to its collapse.
To fully understand the events that take place, it is recommended to watch both Deadpool and Wolverine. The film features timeline jumping, numerous battles, numerous fatalities, and entertaining pairings between Wade and Wolverine. Deadpool and Wolverine Reviews
Our review of Deadpool 3 commends the movie’s treatment of nostalgia, emphasizing its delightful humor and heartwarming moments.
Despite our overall positive impression, we did have concerns regarding the visuals, which were described as “flat, diluted, and lacking cinematic elements at times.”Additionally, as is common in many Marvel films, the third act was slightly disorderly.
At the same time, the Rotten Tomatoes critic score for Deadpool & Wolverine stands at 79% (based on 304 reviews), while the audience score is a high 97% (proving its popularity with viewers).
While a MetaCritic score of 56 may be considered low, it is not surprising as it does not quite cater to the intended demographic. However, the movie’s IMDb score remains strong at 8.2 with 92,000 ratings.
Is it Rated R?
Even though Disney now owns Deadpool, Deadpool 3 will still be R-rated and won’t have to tone down any content.
Good news for Deadpool fans who are familiar with the Merc With a Mouth’s profane language. It should be noted that Deadpool & Wolverine is not appropriate for children.
From the very beginning, Director Shawn Levy was determined to maintain the R-rating. Both he and Reynolds have consistently stated that Disney did not hinder their vision, and this is evident in the final product.
Deadpool & Wolverine Runtime
According to AMC Theaters’ listing, the film’s running time is 127 minutes, which is equivalent to 2 hours and 7 minutes.
This makes it the lengthiest Deadpool film in the franchise thus far. To put it into context, the original Deadpool movie had a duration of 1 hour and 48 minutes, while Deadpool 2 ran for 2 hours. This allows for ample time for mischievous multiverse adventures.
Will It Be Available on Disney Plus?
Deadpool & Wolverine will initially be released exclusively in theaters, but it will also become available on Disney Plus in the following months.
The timing of the release will largely depend on the financial success of the third movie at the box office. However, it is expected to take at least a few months before it becomes available on the streaming service.
Prior to that, the film will soon be available for digital rental or purchase after its theatrical release.
