Deadpool and Wolverine: The Controversial Poolverine Variant Cut from the Movie and Fan Backlash

Fans are now able to see a highly distinctive “Poolverine”version that was edited out of Deadpool and Wolverine, and they are disappointed that it was not included in the final release.

David Masson, a concept artist, has been showcasing his work on social media for Deadpool and Wolverine, featuring his original designs for Wolverine’s brown costume.

The most exciting variant he recently shared on his Instagram may be the Wolverine-themed Deadpool variant, also known as the “Poolverine.”It fuses elements of both characters’ costumes, featuring Deadpool’s suit with a Wolverine mask and claws.

“Masson explains that they had originally considered naming the character Wolverinepool, or perhaps Wolverpool or Deadverine. However, due to various factors, these names were ultimately not chosen.”

Despite the lack of explanation for its absence in the film, it is apparent why the one-of-a-kind combination of Wolverine and Deadpool, known as Poolverine, did not make an appearance. The movie already had a multitude of guest appearances and variations, and it is likely that several of them were ultimately left out during the editing process.

Some fans are expressing the same sentiment in the comics, expressing disappointment that the detailed and unique variant did not make it into the final version of the movie.

“Why isn’t this in the movie?”One fan inquired.

“It’s disappointing to see that left on the cutting room floor,”another person chimed in.

Another person compared it to the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 costume, which features Miles Morales dressed as Wolverine.

Despite Poolverine not making the cut, it has not affected the success of the film. In fact, Deadpool & Wolverine has been the most well-received MCU film in recent years and has even broken the record for the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
