Deadpool: Samurai Chapter 20 has unexpectedly concluded the manga series, with creators seemingly stepping away from the project for now.
Launched in December 2020, Deadpool: Samurai emerged as a highlight in the Marvel x Shonen Jump partnership, giving various beloved MCU heroes the chance to star in a manga crossover. The ever-popular Merc with a Mouth led his own Shonen adventure, crafted by the talents of Sanshiro Kasama and Hikaru Uesugi.
Despite enjoying considerable success over 20 chapters, the series has come to an abrupt halt. As announced by Shonen Jump, Deadpool: Samurai is now “indefinitely suspended due to several factors.”

This update indicates that Sanshiro and Hikaru are not in a position to share further specifics but are actively seeking new opportunities. No additional details were disclosed.
The abrupt ending has taken many by surprise. Some speculate that the cover of Chapter 20, which featured Deadpool humorously referencing the first volume of The Quintessential Quintuplets, could be linked to this development.
Published by Kodansha, this playful jab at works from another publisher might have stirred some tensions within the manga industry. While this remains conjecture for now, it emphasizes that Deadpool’s rivalry with characters like Luffy and Goku has reached its endpoint.
As it stands, there’s no indication of an anime series or movie adaptation on the horizon—at least not in the near future. However, fans did appreciate the wild crossover that Wade is concluding with.
“I never expected to see Deadpool crossed over with Quintuplets on my bingo card today,” remarked one user on X. Another chimed in, “I love how chaotic Deadpool is by referencing not only works from Shueisha but also from a different publisher.”
