The creators of Deadpool: Samurai have confirmed that a second season is in the works, but not before teasing fans with a fake series.
It appears that the Merc with a Mouth is thoroughly enjoying his fictional life in 2024. Following the success of the film Deadpool & Wolverine, which includes Hugh Jackman reprising his role with the iconic adamantium claws, the antihero is now making his reappearance in the world of manga.
Shueisha revealed on August 7, 2024 that Deadpool: Samurai Season 2 will be available on the Shonen Jump+ app. The manga will once again be written by Sanshiro Kasama and illustrated by Hikaru Uesugi. However, the announcement was in line with the humorous nature of the infamous character.
When a new romance manga was listed on the app by Shueisha, it caught everyone off guard when it turned out to be a joke aimed at their expense. Secret Steward initially follows the typical formula of a high romance story, leaving no reason for us to question its authenticity.
Midway through the first chapter, Deadpool unexpectedly bursts onto the scene. And his entrance is anything but subtle. Roaring in on a truck, he callously beheads the male lead with a straight face (even though we can’t see it, his expression is unmistakable).
The Regenerating Degenerate continues to surprise readers as he pays homage to My Hero Academia with a nod to Dabi’s iconic pose. He then teases fans with his return to the pages before battling mantis-like monsters.
Deadpool’s comeback and the clever prank have brought immense joy to fans. As expressed by a fan on X/Twitter, “His return was a perfect blend of A-Train and Truck-kun, making him a GOAT in both the comic and manga worlds.”
Another individual chimed in, saying, “I can’t decide which aspect I enjoyed more – the fact that it’s Deadpool or THAT HE USED TOUYA’S STANCE.”
“A third person added that he had committed the brutal murder of a romantic comedy protagonist. A fourth person commented in agreement, stating that the murder had taken place right after the movie.
