Deadpool & Wolverine: Classic Hit Soaring Up Charts Again

The success of Deadpool and Wolverine has also led to a sudden resurgence of popularity for a classic hit featured in the film.

Despite already breaking box office records and establishing itself as one of the most successful releases of 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine’s continued successes show no signs of slowing down.

The opening scene of the movie has been praised as one of its finest moments, as it features a dance sequence and the desecration of Logan’s grave, adding to the overall impact of the film.

The chosen song was *NSYNC’s ‘Bye Bye Bye’, which featured the iconic dance from its original music video. Recently, the 2000s hit has experienced a resurgence in popularity since its initial release.

The track has already made its debut on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, ranking at number eight in the Top 10. Currently, it is positioned at number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In addition, Spotify has observed the song’s rise to the top 20 and Forbes reported that NSYNC experienced an 837% surge in sales following the feature.

Although the song is 24 years old, Deadpool and Wolverine have introduced it to a new generation, as various content creators and TikTokers are now sharing their interpretations of the dance.

One person wrote that the song was stuck in their mind. Another person agreed, mentioning that they had watched the opening sequence of the film numerous times because it was the greatest movie beginning ever.

It is not uncommon for a TV show or movie to bring attention back to an older song. For example, Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’ gained renewed popularity when it was featured in a pivotal scene during Season 4 Volume 1 of Stranger Things. Within a span of three weeks, the song garnered over 137 million streams on Spotify.

Despite the show’s fourth season being released over a year ago, Bush’s song has remained a hit and even reached number three on Billboard’s Hot 100 once again.
