Defeat the Black Loong in a Jiffy With This Guide – Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth: Wukong is filled with a variety of intriguing Bosses and exhilarating battles. Each Boss possesses a striking appearance and impressive abilities, making every battle an exciting prospect.

A notable battle in Black Myth Wukong is the optional secret boss fight against the Black Loong, the Yaoguai King of Chapter 2. Concealed within a sand geyser located in the Fright Cliff, Black Loong is among the four Loong Dragons that players can defeat to obtain valuable materials for crafting powerful weapons.

To overcome the Black Dragon Loong-

  • To effectively defend against attacks such as the electric arc slam, employ the Pillar Stance to elevate yourself and avoid any damage.
  • Azure Dust Transformation has a good stagger rate and is effective in stopping Loong’s powerful combos.
  • With The Pluck of Many, you can repeatedly attack and gradually reduce Loong’s HP, causing annoyance.
  • Gain knowledge of the attack patterns of Black Dragon Loong in order to effectively dodge and counterattack.
  • Purchase medications to increase your immunity against surprise assaults, and obtain additional supplies such as Thunderbolt Horn Soak.

The Black Loong, a formidable Boss in Chapter 2 of Black Myth, can be defeated by utilizing kite tactics, which I have found to be the most efficient method.

The impressive Black Dragon Loong possesses a large build. While his electric attacks pack a powerful punch, they can be readily dodged once you become accustomed to them.

Utilizing the Pillar Stance, you are able to access any of the elevated stone platforms scattered throughout the field to evade the powerful AOE electric attacks of the Black Dragon Loong. By acquiring the Azure Dust Transformation (obtained after defeating the Man-In-Stone in Chapter 2), you can also effectively slow down Loong and successfully stagger him.

Proper preparation is crucial for success in any fight. Being able to withstand Loong’s attacks will allow you to endure a mistake or two. It is highly recommended to purchase the Thunderbolt Horn Soak prior to the battle as it greatly simplifies the fight.

Understanding the Attack Patterns of Black Loong

The combat experience in Black Myth is greatly enhanced by the diverse attacks of the Black Dragon Loong. Its arsenal mainly consists of electric-based attacks, which may deal slow but powerful explosive damage. Let us examine the attack patterns of this formidable creature in detail.

Slam Attack

  • Electric Mace
  • As the battle rages on, Black Loong electrifies his twin maces and hammers them into the ground, causing lightning to arc around the weapons. To avoid the area-of-effect, try dodging towards his legs.
  • Lightning Slash
  • Black Loong has numerous attacks that are easily avoidable, but this particular one is not. The attacks are slow as the Boss makes two slashing gestures in the air, causing lightning arcs to spread in a linear fashion. It is important to carefully dodge to the side.
Shock Wave Slam

  • Shock Wave Slam
  • The most interesting attack of Black Loong is the Shock Wave Slam. The Boss slams the ground multiple times to rack up waves of electric currents that deal massive damage in a huge AOE. Use the Staff Stance or get on the rocks to avoid it.
  • Electric Ring Dance
  • During the Boss battle, the most challenging part you will encounter is when the Boss Loong becomes enraged and shoots lightning from his mouth. As a drum sound echoes in the background, the Black Loong pounds the ground, causing his attacks to reach farther and making them harder to anticipate. These attacks can quickly deplete your health, so it is crucial to proceed with caution.

  • Sandstorm
  • Black Dragon Loong is able to utilize his surroundings in battle, using the sand to obstruct both vision and movement. To counter this tactic, the Wind Tamer vessel (found in Fuban Boss Chapter 2) can be used to break through the Sandstorm. Once the Sandstorm has been successfully broken, Black Loong will be stunned for a significant period of time.
