Defeating Enemies with the Tripcaster: A Guide to Earning ‘What A Trip’ in Astro Bot

There are numerous hidden missions in Astro Bot, similar to other PlayStation titles; one notable mission is the ‘What A Trip’ hidden trophy.

Players can unlock this mission by utilizing the Tripcaster to defeat seven enemies. While this might occur by chance, obtaining this hidden trophy requires some patience.

To take down seven enemies at once with the Tripcaster, players must entice the enemies to follow Astro. As they pursue Astro, jump over the Tripcaster wire to lead them into colliding with it, allowing you to achieve the ‘What A Trip’ hidden trophy.

Before attempting to get the hidden trophy, make sure you meet the requirement of eliminating seven enemies using the Tripcaster. The Tripcaster is positioned near a cliff wall in the corner.

To unlock this achievement, approach the area where the enemies are and lure them (simply being in their vicinity will draw them to you).

There is a designated spot close by equipped with three Tripcaster wires; this is the location crucial for earning the hidden trophy.

By moving around them, enemies can be tempted to chase after you; make your way to the area near a Tripcaster, jump over the tripwire, and the unsuspecting enemies will rush into the Tripcaster, leading to their demise.

Make sure to only jump over the Tripcaster and refrain from using your laser jump. The lasers from Astro can disable the tripwires, but if you accidentally break one, you can still use the others similarly.

This stage harbors exactly seven enemies, and once all seven crash into the Tripcaster, you will unlock the hidden trophy—‘What A Trip’.

The Tripcaster is a pink electric wire that serves as a crucial reminder of why not to tamper with wires. You can find the Tripcaster after crossing the first checkpoint in the Machine Learning level.

Proceed upwards on the cliff after spotting a few rows of Tripcaster wires (with no enemies nearby).

This area features a triangle-style setup of the Tripcaster trips, alongside the seven enemies needed for the hidden trophy mission.

If you’re new to PlayStation’s Horizon series, the Tripcaster is designed to lay down tripwires that trigger consequences on enemies.

In Astro Bot, players cannot set down trips, but that won’t prevent those foolish enemies from crashing into the pre-existing ones. The Tripcaster is featured in the Horizon-inspired “Machine Learning” stage in the Feather Cluster.
