The concluding chapter, Chapter 430, does not make any mention of a romantic relationship between any of the Class 1-A students.

The chapter takes place eight years after the events of the epilogue, with all of them now working as adults. However, the topic of their romantic relationships is not mentioned.

Despite this, there are fans who have discovered small details that they interpret as clues about their possible romantic relationship. Throughout the chapter, there are brief glimpses of moments spanning several years, such as the group’s final exam and graduation, Bakugo’s physical therapy, and the fading of One For All’s embers.

During one of their shared memories, Deku and Ochako can be seen happily experiencing the snowfall together. Many fans speculate that the two might have been on a date during this moment. Furthermore, some believe that the mask Ochako wears as an adult with her hero costume is a tribute to Deku’s mask, as they both have a similar design.

In the last panel of Chapter 430, Deku is shown joining his friends as a Pro Hero in his new hero suit. Ochako, instead of facing forward like most of the others, is seen looking at him. Many fans of the series have interpreted this scene as a strong indication of a potential romantic connection between the two characters.

Deku and Ochako’s relationship has been well-written

In My Hero Academia, Deku and Ochako share a significant and well-developed dynamic. From the beginning, they form a strong friendship and remain each other’s unwavering supporters throughout the entire story.

During the U.A. entrance test, the protagonist sacrifices his own chance to pass in order to protect her. In return, she repays the favor by generously sharing her own points with him, ultimately granting him enrollment at U.A.

As time passes, their bond only grows stronger. The One For All wielder holds Ochako in high regard and decides to adopt the name ‘Deku’ as his Hero name, thanks to her giving it a new and uplifting significance despite its previous use as a derogatory term in his life.

On the contrary, Ochako is deeply inspired by Deku and strives to improve herself in order to keep up with him. She is always quick to offer assistance whenever he needs it, as evidenced by her protective actions when the Quirks of the previous One For All users go awry for the first time.

At the end of the Dark Hero Arc, when Class 1-A brings Deku back to U.A., she continues to exhibit the same behavior. She bravely confronts the angry crowd and advocates for Deku, causing him to become emotional. Their strong bond persists even after the war, as he is the only one she confides in about her difficult feelings towards Toga.

Although Deku and Ochako do not become an official couple by the end of My Hero Academia, their bond remains strong. In fact, the author Kohei Horikoshi’s decision to not confirm their relationship status only adds to the specialness of their friendship.
