Deku’s Endgame Haircut and its Impact on One Piece Fans

In chapter 424 of My Hero Academia, Deku’s final haircut was revealed, causing One Piece fans to speculate about the fate of their protagonist’s hairstyle as the series nears its end.

Kohei Horikoshi’s remarks also confirmed that he has no intention of ending the series immediately after the final war. Additionally, viewers can expect to see post-war material as the students of U.A. High School graduate in the upcoming episodes.

Despite causing concern among his fans, Deku’s haircut in the final panel of the chapter has sparked a defensive response. On the other hand, followers of Monkey D Luffy are expressing worry about the future of their beloved protagonist. It is not uncommon for Shounen anime series, such as Naruto and Bleach, to give their main character a shorter haircut during the climax of the series. Given that Deku has now joined this trend, it is possible that the captain of the Straw Hats may be next in line.

The latest installment of My Hero Academia, chapter 424, opened with a brief period of time having passed as the heroes dedicated themselves to aiding the civilians in rebuilding the destroyed structures that were casualties of the recent war.

The focus of the chapter then turned to the hospital, where it was revealed that Bakugo had sustained a serious arm injury. In response, the hero chose to undergo therapy in the hopes of making a full recovery. Meanwhile, in a nearby room, All Might and Deku reflected on recent events. Deku then shared that he still had remnants of One for All within him.

The chapter then transitioned into a monologue and ended with a visual of Deku with a new haircut commonly seen on main characters in Shounen series after their journey concludes. This particular haircut has also been seen on characters like Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto and Ichigo from Bleach, as observed by fans.

As Deku has now also joined the group of characters with short hairstyles, the One Piece fandom has expressed their worries about how the author of the series, Eiichiro Oda, will handle Luffy’s hair once he discovers the One Piece and the series comes to an end.

Most of the fan base hoped that Oda would not give Luffy the same treatment as other series had given their main characters. Despite some fans’ belief that Oda would never give Luffy a final haircut, others pointed out the SBS section of volume 89 where Oda had already depicted Luffy’s future appearance with regular hair.

“I hope they don’t give Luffy the endgame haircut,”a fan wrote.

“Oda goated bro will not do that,”another fan claimed.

“Pfft look at sbs one piece of many character ages look at luffy with 60 years xd,”an X user claimed.

However, a few fans took it upon themselves to playfully taunt Luffy fans, stating that they would not remain silent if Oda treated Luffy similarly to how other Shounen authors treated their main characters. One fan went as far as comparing Luffy to Naruto, claiming that even with Luffy’s usual haircut, he would not possess the same level of charisma as Naruto’s raw appearance.

“Don’t get quiet when op ends with Luffy getting this haircut,”a fan said.

“Luffy could get the finest haircut ever and it still wouldn’t look as raw as Naruto’s,”another person wrote.

Final thoughts

According to a fan’s revelation, Oda has already revealed the future character design of Monkey D Luffy as the Pirate King. This brought peace to the fandom knowing that their beloved character will not end up with the typical short-haired protagonist look.

Despite Oda’s ability to surprise the fandom with unexpected plot twists, Luffy’s actions have the power to alter his future. Therefore, any speculation about future events should be taken with caution until confirmed by official source material.
