Airing on May 16, 2024, episode 20 of Delicious in Dungeon delved into Asebi’s unique habits and her interactions with Shuro’s party. It also showcased Izutsumi’s impressive fighting skills and strengthened her bond with the rest of the group.
The anime can currently only be streamed on Netflix, with both subbed and dubbed versions being simultaneously released. While the pacing has been fluctuating with each episode, fans anticipate the anime will conclude around chapter 50.

In episode 20 of Delicious in Dungeon, Laios and his companions return to the Red Dragon’s territory and stumble upon a magical door that leads them to a lower level. While the group is occupied with retrieving lost supplies from their previous encounter with the dragon, Chilchuck catches Izutsumi stealing a few items.
As Izutsumi and Chilchuk were discussing their origins, they were suddenly interrupted by the appearance of an ice golem. The golem engaged the group in combat, and Chilchuk quickly instructed Izutsumi to shatter its core. However, Izutsumi was unable to locate the core. In a stroke of luck, Chilchuk shot an arrow that guided Izutsumi towards the core, allowing them to defeat the ice golem with ease.
On the following day, Laios and his companions put on their jackets and get ready for their journey. Senshi offers everyone a Mandrake food item, but Izutsumi declines hers and insists that Laios should have it instead. Despite Laios’ repeated objections, Izutsumi scratches him and declares that she will not consume creatures. Undeterred, the group carries on with their expedition and finds shelter in a nearby cave.
Laios later clarifies to Marcille that the creature they encountered was a Barometz, which is harmless but attracts carnivores. As Laios continues on towards Izutsumi, a pack of dire wolves suddenly appears. While Laios handles the situation, Delicious in Dungeon episode 20 shows Izutsumi entering a nearby cave. Marcille follows her, and Izutsumi reveals the reason for leaving Laios to face the wolves alone.
As the dire wolves draw near, Marcille becomes aware of their presence and advises that they fall back. She offers to unleash her explosion magic on the wolves. Izutsumi gives her the freedom to act as she wishes and proceeds along her chosen route. In the meantime, Marcille unleashes her explosion magic on the dire wolves.
Despite being injured by a dire wolf, Izutsumi is saved by Marcille when she arrives. Marcille takes the opportunity to remind Izutsumi that avoiding dislikes can hold one back from achieving their goals. She advises Izutsumi to consider taking their shortcuts in order to reach the mad magician and continue their journey with the group.
Eventually, Laios and the others regroup with them and discover how Laios managed to frighten off the dire wolves that Izutsumi had left behind. Later, Senshi, Laios, and Marcille express their admiration for Izutsumi’s appetite. However, Izutsumi rejects their attempts to treat her as a pet and makes it clear that she will not consume any repulsive creatures. As the episode draws to a close, Senshi notices that Marcille has not touched her meal. Izutsumi encourages Marcille to eat, urging her to finish her food.
Concluding Remarks
In episode 21 of Delicious in Dungeon, the focus will shift to the surface world and a new faction will be introduced. This will also mark the long-awaited appearance of the Western elves, who have been repeatedly mentioned throughout the storyline. Additionally, viewers can expect to see Kabru and Shuro, who have already made their way back to the surface, in this episode.
