Fans were thrilled with the release of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 3, as it offered a plethora of anime-original scenes. Despite the addition of these scenes, the overall viewing experience was not affected negatively. This further showcases Ufotable’s prowess as one of the top animation studios in this genre.

The anime adaptation is notable for its consistency and inclusion of new scenes, effectively injecting some energy into an otherwise monotonous story arc. In comparison to the source material, the episode contains a substantial amount of additional content.

Demon Slayer: A Deep Dive into the 7 Panels of Season 4 Episode 3

Readers familiar with the manga will be aware that the Hashira Training arc in the story is exceptionally brief. With just 8 chapters, Demon Slayer season 4 episode 3 only covered a fraction of the material from chapter 132. In fact, the source material consists of only 7 panels dedicated to the first stage of training, which amounts to roughly 1.5 pages in the manga.

The manga depicted a brief exchange between Tanjiro and Tengen Uzui in which the latter expressed his enthusiasm for Tanjiro’s recovery. This was followed by a panel showing Tanjiro advancing to the next level of his training. This panel signaled the conclusion of the events covered in episode 3 of season 4 of Demon Slayer.

Despite this, the anime still showcased numerous interactions between Tanjiro and the wives of the Sound Hashira.

In the third episode of Demon Slayer season 4, there were significant moments that provided more insight into the characters. The new scenes, created specifically for the anime, depicted Uzui’s internal conflict with his retirement. Despite his desire to stand with his allies and fight Muzan, he was unable to return to the battlefield, causing him great sadness.

In addition, a few unidentified demon hunters were noticeably less powerful and agile compared to Tanjiro. Yet, through his determination in the training regimen, the protagonist is able to motivate his fellow comrades. Although they recognized their differences in ability, they vowed to improve and strengthen themselves in order to assist Tanjiro on the battlefield.

The standout moment came during the intense battle between Tanjiro and Tengen Uzui. Similar to previous episodes, this scene was created specifically for the anime. Ufotable’s flawless animation and seamless fight choreography left fans on the edge of their seats. Additionally, subtle hints were given about the upcoming events in the Infinity Castle arc.

Native, the recently appointed Upper Moon 4 demon, dispatched her eye to gather information on the whereabouts of the demon hunters. This added to the enigmatic atmosphere of the show, as evidenced by the cryptic exchange between Obanai Iguro and Sanemi Shinazugawa.

Despite the significant decrease in demon attacks, the Serpent Hashira displayed clear signs of fear and uncertainty. This indicated that the demons were preparing for an imminent all-out war, causing the Hashira to have legitimate concerns. In fact, the latest episode of Demon Slayer season 4, episode 3, primarily consisted of anime-original scenes and only covered about one and a half pages of the original source material.
